British band Mumford & Sons has one of the most recognizable sounds in the music industry. The band’s folksy beats have earned acclaim from music critics and fans alike – and much of the credit for the group’s signature sound goes to Marcus Mumford, who sings lead vocals for the group. Mumford, who also plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and drums, is a very successful musician with several awards and accolades to his credit. Despite his many accomplishments, Mumford lives a low-key life when he isn’t performing, spending most of his time with his wife, actor Carey Mulligan, and their children. So, how much is Mumford’s net worth?
What is Marcus Mumford best known for?
How has it been 10 years? Feels in equal parts such a long time and also not when you consider just how much has happened. Making this album felt like a continuation of Sigh No More,...

China was much on Bill Maher’s mind in this week’s edition of HBO’s Real Time. His first mention came during the opening monologue, when he talked about people “freaking out” over the Chinese spy balloon over Montana.
“Now they know where we keep the cows,” Maher said. He noted the Chinese are denying that the balloon is being used to spy on us. “That’s what TikTok is for.”
Maher was against those who want to shoot it down, calling for calm. “We have to watch til it crashes and burns,” he said. “Like we’re doing with Kanye”
But Maher turned serious during his New Rules editorial, noting how the woke are trying to reinvent the very nature of human beings. He talked about the Red Guard movement in China, where people would attack those accused of not toeing the ideological line, making them wear dunce caps and publicly shaming them.

Marcus Mumford talked about the likelihood of Mumford & Sons reuniting soon to work on new material in a clip from an upcoming interview on Sunday Today with Willie Geist, airing this Sunday, Nov. 27, on NBC.
It’s been four years since the last Mumford & Sons album (2018’s Delta), and back in September, Mumford released his own solo debut, Self-Titled. Nevertheless, the frontman made it sound like the group hasn’t been on any kind of hiatus.

“How should we proceed / Without things getting too heavy?” asks Marcus Mumford on his first solo album. It’s a reasonable question to ask of both himself and his listeners, because the 10 raw songs on this self-titled record find the singer processing the sexual abuse he experienced as a child. He was apparently so concerned about triggering other victims that he sent all the lyrics to a trauma specialist to ensure he’d “reflected reality”.
This doesn’t mean he pulls any punches. The self-described former “fat kid from London”, who started out playing drums for Laura Marling and formed his own nu-folk band Mumford & Sons in 2007, has always worn his heart on his sleeve. His parents were both church leaders and he brought a preacher’s zeal into full-throated stadium anthems such as “I Will Wait”. Marcus Mumford revealed that he was the victim of sexual abuse as a child — an experience that informed songs on his upcoming solo album Self-Titled — in a new interview.
Speaking to GQ, Mumford said that his new single (and Self-Titled’s opening song) “Cannibal” was written while Mumford confronted what had happened to him starting at the age of six.

Whether you believe in true love or not, there's one thing we can all agree on: these wedding dresses are ah-may-zing.
Celebs pulled out all the stops this year to make sure that they not only had the perfect day but also the perfect gown, calling in big names like Victoria Beckham, Jenny Packham, and Vera Wang to make them stunning numbers for their nuptials.
Though all of the looks were gorgeous in their own right, there was two clear themes to 2016's gowns: boho chic and luxe glam. In fact, quite a few ladies even combined the two, which meant miles of jaw-dropping lace and plenty of intricate beading and florals that beg for a closer look.

The American actress, 30, began dating the Mumford & Sons banjo player last year while going public with their relationship in July, 2015, when they were photographed walking hand-in-hand in Paris, France.
Before year's end, Winston popped the question over the Christmas holidays, and on Saturday (October 15), the happy couple became husband and wife in a romantic destination wedding, Dianna's representative confirms to Us Magazine.
Details are yet to emerge, as the pair is famously private and never even confirmed the rumours of its engagement after the news hit headlines at the start of the year (2016). Welcome to the April 13, 2015 edition of Outrage Watch, HitFix's (almost) daily rundown of all the things folks are peeved about in entertainment. Today's top story: Mumford & Sons want nothing to do with Tidal. In a new interview with The Daily Beast, the Grammy-winning rock band greeted the mention of Jay Z's much-ballyhooed new artist-owned streaming service -- which has the backing of such music superstars as Madonna, Beyonce, Jack White and Rihanna -- with "a series of loud fart sounds" before being slammed further by frontman Marcus Mumford, who told the website: “We wouldn’t have joined it anyway, even if they had asked. We don’t want to be tribal. ...A band of our size shouldn’t be complaining. And when they say it’s artist-owned, it’s owned by those rich, wealthy artists.” Or as guitarist Winston Marshall called them: "New school fucking plutocrats.” Wait, is that a compliment?...

Not very long ago, despite platinum sales and a 2013 Album of the Year Grammy for Babel, making fun of the band Mumford & Sons was all too easy. They were Englishmen singing Americana. Their music was described as “bro-folk.” They wore beards unironically. On Wilder Mind, produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Florence + the Machine) and recorded in the Ditmas Park studio belonging to the National’s Aaron Dessner, the band moves away from their trademark folksy sound and the foot-stomping anthems to which fans are accustomed. The lush harmonies and old-timey percussion of “Little Lion Man” and “I Will Wait” have been replaced by enthusiastic electric-guitar solos and aggressive rock drumming. The album does not sound like it could've been recorded during the Great Depression.“I don’t think [Wilder Mind] is a reaction to what anyone else thought,” says guitarist Winston Marshall, sitting with his bandmates in a luxurious...

Stop the press. After a shorter-than-anticipated hiatus, Mumford & Sons are back in business, but this time, they’ve kicked the banjo to one side, with an electric album named Wilder Mind.
It’s been three years since the band’s thumping second album Babel was released, and three years on top of that since their debut, Sigh No More, set Mumford on the way to the world stage.
The formula is tried and tested, and importantly it works. The banjo-laden, foot-stomping tunes burst onto the mainstream music scene, despite dividing music fans, and their style is loved by millions. Then came the hiatus.
Then came band member Winston Marshall’s infamous rant after being asked whether the band had killed the banjo: “I think ‘killed’ is an understatement. We murdered it. We let it, yeah – f*** the banjo. I f***ing hate the banjo.” Ultimately, when Wilder Mind was announced,...

When news broke in September that Mumford & Sons were going on hiatus, fans were reluctant to believe the news. Were Mumford and the gang merely resting up before the most banjo-tastic reunion tour ever, or had they hung up their suspenders for good? When we asked banjo player Winston Marshall at last night’s Levis-hosted Mistaken for Strangers after-party at the Westway, it certainly sounded like the latter. “I wish I had something to say about Mumford & Sons. It was a good time,” said Marshall. “It’s over.” Totally over? “Yeah, We had a good time, though, you know. It was good.” Should we expect a reunion tour? “Well, I dunno, fucking, that would be awesome. But, you know, it is what it is, I guess.”Whatever his next project is, it's safe to say it won’t involve a banjo. Responding to a question about whether Mumford & Sons had...

After concluding their 'Babel' tour the Grammy winning group have revealed that they are taking a break from the music scene for an indefinite amount of time. The English band which is made up of Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane made their debut in 2007. 'Babel' is their second studio album and won them the 2013 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. This past week in Bonner Springs, Kansas, Lovett revealed that the group is planning a long break: "There won't be any Mumford & Sons activities for the foreseeable future following Friday's show. We have no idea [how long we'll be breaking for]. We just know we’re going to take a considerable amount of time off and just go back to hanging out and having no commitments or pressure or anything like that. "It feels...

Mumford & Sons can clearly take a joke. The award-winning band enlisted the help of Hollywood funnymen Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Will Forte and Ed Helms to lampoon the four indie folk band members in their latest music video for "Hopeless Wanderer." Photos: Mumford & Sons at The Hollywood Bowl Sudeikis is frontman Marcus Mumford, Bateman acts as the banjoist Winston Marshall, Forte is bassist Ted Dwane and Helms appears as Ben Lovett on the piano. The parody features all of the trappings of a Mumford & Sons video, including old-timey suspenders, exposed light bulbs, fields of

Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Ed Helms and Will Forte aren't in Mumford & Sons, but they play the group in the band's new video for "Hopeless Wanderer." The clip for Mumford & Sons' latest single off the 2012 album "Babel" features the four funnymen as arch versions of Marcus Mumford (Sudeikis), Ted Dwane (Forte), Winston Marshall (Bateman) and Ben Lovett (Helms). It's pretty much perfect, if only for Helms' entire existence (check the photo below for an example). Not that anyone should be surprised to find out that the Nard Dog likes Mumford.

He wasn’t. But I was and so was most of the rapt, standing-room-only crowd that crammed the Greek Theatre at Uc Berkeley for the second of three sold-out Mumford & Sons concerts late last month.

Get well soon! Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane was rushed to the hospital on Monday, June 10. The 28-year-old musician's medical scare was revealed via the band's official website the following day. "Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment," fellow band members Marcus Mumford, Winston Marshall and Ben Lovett said in a statement. "The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an [...]...

Mumford & Sons' sophomore album, "Babel," was a huge success for the band -- hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and getting certified platinum. "Babel" sold 600,000 copies in its first week, coming in second only to Taylor Swift's smash hit "Red." The album earned Mumford & Sons six Grammy award nominations, taking the award for Album of the Year.
These are figures that any band would be proud of, making Mumford & Sons one of the most successful groups as of late. But for Marcus Mumford, Winston Marshall, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane, the sales figures are the one thing that they are ignoring.
"We've asked our manager just not to keep us up to date on records [sales]," Mumford said in a recent interview with Absolute Radio. "We know about ticket sales pretty well, because that's what we sort of know and love, record sales aren't really that relevant to us."

Marcus Mumford may be the frontman of Mumford & Sons (and likely the only member general audiences can name), but the band's new music video for "Whispers in the Dark" also highlights band members Winston Marshall, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane, as they apply fake beards, run in slow-motion, and explore a ship. "Whispers in the Dark" shows each member of the band in his own corner of the video, getting ready for a Mumford & Sons gig. The four meet up at the end of the clip as the corners come together.
"Whispers in the Dark" is a single off of Mumford & Sons' latest album, "Babel," which took home the Grammy award for Album of the Year. Released in September, "Babel" also produced hits such as "I Will Wait" and "Lover of the Light."

Mumford & Sons' Babel just won the Grammy for Album of the Year, and the band is already planning album Number Three, setting up a backstage practice room at every gig of their winter arena tour to work out musical ideas. "We're getting into the habit of just sort of working on stuff," says keyboardist Ben Lovett.
Q&A: Mumford & Sons’ Ted Dwane on the Making of ‘Babel’
"I do feel like we're ready to make the departure," adds Lovett. "There's definitely cohesion between the two albums [2010's Sigh No More and Babel]. Now that we've done that, we're not desperate to walk away from that sound, but we're willing to explore what else we could do. These two albums are like brothers. Do something that's a cousin."

If your album only wins one Grammy, Album of the Year is not a bad one to get. Just ask Mumford & Sons, whose second studio album, "Babel," was the somewhat surprising 2013 Grammy winner for Album of the Year.
The British folk rock band wound up beating out The Black Keys, Frank Ocean, fun. and Jack White when it counted most.
The Black Keys' "El Camino" was looking like the favorite after winning Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for the single "Lonely Boy" earlier in the evening.
Frank Ocean picked up Best Urban Contemporary Album for his critically acclaimed "Channel Orange," while fun. nabbed Best New Artist and Song of the Year (a songwriting award, not to be confused with Record of the Year which honors the best single) for "We Are Young." White, sadly, went home empty handed (although he already has six...

We'll have to wait to see if Mumford & Sons takes home Album of the Year. But we do know one thing: Their 2013 Grammys performance rocked. The band (Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane) hit the stage to perform "I Will Wait" off their (what else) Grammy nominated album, Babel. Equipped with their trusty guitars and backed by some glaring bright lights, the band brought down the house. Just ask one apparent fan: Taylor Swift! The fellow performer was spotted jamming out in the audience while they played.

Nashville, Tenn. — Even the members of The Lumineers are puzzled by the success of their song "Ho Hey" and their sudden rise to fame after years on the road. The song has long legs and is not only getting played alongside Nicki Minaj and Maroon 5 on the radio, it's been ruling Spotify and working its way into popular culture.
A few years ago, singer Wesley Schultz said, hearing The Lumineers' brand of all-acoustic folk rock on a Top 40 countdown would have been pretty unthinkable. Now his band's caught up in a wave that could crest at the Grammy Awards, and he says he's still trying to sort out why.
"I can tell you that when we play live and when we sometimes go out in the audience, the reaction to just playing your instruments without any help, without any amplification or tricks, that surprises people in kind of a...

In an interview with NME, Mumford and Sons’ banjo player Winston Marshall reveals that the band is already working on new material for the follow-up to this year’s sophomore effort Babel. “Will we wait years for the next album? Fuck, no. You heard it here first, " Marshall said. “We’ve just started working on new songs, got a rehearsal studio. They’re bones of songs, but really exciting bones. Sturdy bones.” Mumford and Sons recently received several Grammy nominations and are currently touring overseas....
