Screen Media announced today the acquisition of all rights to the documentary film Vince Carter: Legacy, which will premiere on the Crackle Plus Networks as an original title in October.
“Air Canada,” “Flying Man” and “Half-Man/Half-Amazing” were just a few nicknames attached to NBA star Vince Carter in his time with the Toronto Raptors, where he won Rookie of the Year honors with his high-flying game. Carter went on to become a Slam-Dunk Contest champion, an eight-time All Star, an Olympic gold medalist and one of the handful of players to score 51 points in a single game. He also may be the only player to ever to dunk on a 7’2″ defender by literally jumping over him.
What might be even more impressive, however, is Carter’s durability. High fly acts generally burn fast and bright, but Carter managed to play an NBA-record 22 seasons and, as his career wound down,...

Nearly a year after its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, Anything is Possible – The Serge Ibaka Story will have its U.S. debut on Crackle on August 1.
The feature-length documentary about the Congolese NBA star was produced by Vinay Virmani at LeBron James’ Uninterrupted Canada along with Jordi Vilà and Ibaka’s Ouenzé Entertainment.
Ibaka, a power forward, played a key role on the Toronto Raptors’ championship team in 2019. In the Raptors’ upset NBA Finals victory over the Golden State Warriors, Kawhi Leonard won Mvp honors but Ibaka proved essential, especially in a 20-point performance on the road in Game 4.
In the film (check out a teaser above), Ibaka is shown returning to his birthplace, the Republic of Congo. Carrying the Larry O’Brien trophy won by the Raptors, he meets with local residents and tours the streets where he grew up. He reflects on the death of his...

Son of the Congo tracks Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka as he goes back to the Congo, the African country where he grew up. As Serge visits his family and shows us his childhood home, it’s clear just how much he overcame to make it to the NBA. Directed by Adam Hootnick, this is the first feature film produced by Grantland.
After the film’s premiere, I sat down with Hootnick and one of the producers from Grantland, David Jacoby. We talked about what sparked this project, the experience of shooting in Africa, and much more.
Check out the full interview below, and enjoy.
What was it originally about Serge’s story that made you want to get involved?
Jacoby: We love the NBA at Grantland and one of the things that we like to do is analyze the game, but also get into the men that are on the court.

Amy Schumer and Bill Hader in TrainwreckPhoto: Universal Pictures With Sundance just wrapping up and Berlin starting up in a few days, we are now immersed in the year-long barrage of film festivals. One such festival in South By Southwest. A few weeks back they announced the first seven films of their program, including the opening night film Brand: A Second Coming. Today, they have revealed the rest of the features to be shown in March (except for the midnight program), and some of it has me very excited. The bigger titles announced do not do much for me. Paul Feig's Spy, starring Melissa McCarthy, and the Will Ferrell/Kevin Hart starrer Get Hard leave a lot to be desired in terms of anticipation, as does a work in progress cut of Judd Apatow's latest film Trainwreck. I'm guessing an Apatow work in progress is probably around three and a half hours.
