She may have been the first X Factor mentor knocked out of the competition last year, but that little hiccup won’t stop Demi Lovato from returning to the show’s panel for Season 3, Fox announced today.
“I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on The X Factor,” said Lovato in a press release. “Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better.”

Demi has been living in a sober living house for more than a year, according to a new report. How surprising!
Demi Lovato is allegedly so adamant about staying on the straight and narrow. A new report claims that The X Factor judge moved into a sober living facility in the Los Angeles area, following her inpatient rehab stint in 2010.
Demi, 20, does not want to fall back into her problems with anorexia, bulimia and cutting, so she’s decided to stay in the facility, where she can get support and guidance from counselors and other addicts who understood her situation, TMZ reports.
Demi does own a home in Los Angeles, but she allegedly chooses to stay at the facility instead.
TMZ further reports that during the entire season of X Factor, Demi felt it was best to come home to the facility, where she wouldn’t lose her way.

Demi had a Twitter rant on Jan. 3 focusing on communication and trust issues — are her relationships, specifically with her on-again/off-again boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, doing ok?
Demi Lovato just wrapped up her stint as a judge on The X Factor and now, she’s taken to twitter to focus on her personal life. But is everything ok? Could she be sending Wilmer Valderrama a message? Or is she just giving her fans good love and life advice? You be the judge!
Demi’s on-again/off-again relationship with Wilmer, 32, was fueled when he was spotted on The X Factor set on Nov. 8 and again on Nov. 17, 2012.
But we’re unsure of the status of their relationship after Demi had this mini twitter meltdown.
On Dec. 3, she tweeted, “Patience + communication = trust When you learn how to communicate with others, there’s almost no problem you can’t solve.” She added, “P.S.

'The X Factor' judge got inked by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D. Are you a fan of Demi's new ink? Demi Lovato got a new tattoo -- a long line of birds flying down her forearm -- and took to Twitter to show off the fresh ink to her fans. The 20-year-old singer received her new markings from celebrity tattoo artist/reality star, Kat Von D. "Thank you so much @thekatvond for my new ink!! I think it's beautiful and I love it!!" Demi wrote on Nov. 26. The 12 soaring birds are placed alongside the "faith" tattoo Demi got last year. Though Demi has yet to reveal the significance of her new ink, we're sure it represents something meaningful to The X Factor judge, who also has the words "stay" and "strong" tattooed on her wrists and "Let go" and "Let God" stamped on her feet. Emblem3 may be a hot commodity, but pampering the Kardashians is not on their list of priorities. Kendall Jenner is allegedly so enamored by The X Factor boy band that she requested they perform at her birthday party. Unfortunately for Kendall, Emblem3 turned her down. Apparently, Kendall's famous family stepped in to help. Khloe Kardashian, the host of The X Factor, got the band's contact info and mom Kris Jenner made the call, according to TMZ. However, the boys declined. Drew Chadwick, 20, Wesley Stromberg, 18, and Keaton Stromberg, 16, are too busy rehearsing for the competition and couldn't find enough time to pay a visit to the Kardashian household. But even though they declined to do the party, the report claims they would have loved to. What do You think, HollywoodLifers? Should Emblem3 have tried harder to make the party? http://youtu.be/qS522NAQnCU TMZ➚ — Chris Rogers Follow @ChrisRogers86 More X Factor on HollywoodLife.

Drew Chadwick, 20, Wesley Stromberg, 18, and Keaton Stromberg, 16, wanted to sing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" at some point in the competition, but after Carly Rose Sonenclar's show-stopping rendition on Nov. 21, they've scrapped that idea -- and perhaps threw their confidence out the door with it! Emblem3 told HollywoodLife.com exclusively, "[Carly Rose] stole everyone's thunder [by singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow']! Why are we here right now? X Factor USA eliminee Jennel Garcia has admitted that she did not expect to be voted out of the show. Ok, what the hell, America? You really thought Lyric 145 and Jennel Garcia deserved to go home more than CeCe Frey, Arin Ray or Paige Thomas? Simon Cowell has admitted that he loved forcing Demi Lovato to choose between her acts on The X Factor USA last night. During last night's double elimination, Lovato's acts Paige Thomas and Jennel Garcia both found themselves in danger of elimination. The first double elimination of "The X Factor" Season 2 claimed two unfortunate victims: hip-hop trio Lyric 145 -- the most energetic and original act on the show -- and early favorite Jennel Garcia -- who struggled to define herself as a rocker.
"I'm not bummed out," says Lyric Da Queen, who entered the competition as a solo act before partnering in a group with brothers Julien and Jemelle Joseph. "I do wish we could've showed the world what we really could do, and do what we originally planned: original lyrics in hip-hop. But I don't believe in coincidences, I think everything happens for a reason. Now the door is open."
Garcia agrees that it's best to view the elimination as a new beginning. "It's time for me to show the world who I am," Garcia says. "Coming into this competition I lost myself. But I was looking for a place...

Week three of live eliminations turned out to be a rough night for Demi Lovato on "The X Factor."
After Simon Cowell's hip-hop trio Lyric 145 was eliminated by the public vote, two of the three contestants on Lovato's team -- Paige Thomas and Jennel Garcia -- were forced to go head-to-head in a sing-off to determine the evening's second elimination. And Cowell didn't make the tough moment any easier for Lovato.
After L.A. Reid and Britney Spears voted for Garcia to go home, Cowell could've done the same and Lovato wouldn't have had to cast a vote of her own. Instead, he forced Lovato to make a choice.
"I knew I was gonna keep Paige which meant [Demi] wasn't going to have to make a decision," Cowell explains after the show with his trademark wicked grin. "I thought, bearing in mind they're both your artists, I want to see which one you're going to.

Even thought the Nov. 15 'X Factor' results show was somewhat predictable, Taylor Swift hit the stage and made up for the lackluster Top 10 reveal. Mario Lopez started off the show by kicking Lyric145 to the curb, to the surprise of... well, no one. Co-host Khloe Kardashian did her job and acted like she was upset for them, but we know better. There are not enough words to describe how underwhelming The X Factor is, so you have to watch it for yourself. Especially how the classic song "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" gets hip-hop-ified in the most heinous of ways. Spears' speaking voice is as adenoidal as ever and Lovato's voice isn't much better. Performances from Last Night's X Factor courtesy of Fox Teens: Arin Ray Beatrice Miller Carly Rose Sonenclar Diamond White Young Adults: CeCe Frey .Eye of the Tiger. Jennel Garcia .I Love Rock N Roll. Paige Thomas .Take My Breath Away. Over 25s: Jason Brock.I Believe I Can Fly. Tate Stevens.Wanted Dead or Alive. Vino Alan .When a Man Loves a Woman. Groups:...

The X Factor's top 13 contestants (welcome back, Diamond White!) performed songs from movies Thursday night - hoping to earn viewers' votes for the first time this season - but most of the drama came from Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell. The two clashed almost right away after Paige Thomas's highly theatrical performance of "Take My Breath Away." "The beginning was great but I think it needed to go somewhere ... You don't want to turn this into a karaoke competition," Simon told Thomas's mentor. "Madame," he continued, referring to Demi, "could have used a little more imagination in terms...

X Factor USA judges Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell clashed after Jennel Garcia's performance last night (November 7). Garcia, who is being mentored by Lovato, sang a cover of Joan Jett's 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' in the show's movie-themed episode. However, while judge Britney Spears described the performance as "hot", La Reid admitted that it was like "a Joan Jett parody". Cowell was also critical of Garcia's rendition, saying: "I really, really like you but you've got to listen to me here, because this is important - I don't like what Demi has done to the way you look. "I really mean that. You are unrecognisable from the person who we first saw, because you were kind of like fun and charming, and this is just - I agree, this is a bit of a parody." Lovato attempted (more)...

Welcome back, Diamond White. You're the next American Idol! Oops, wait, wrong show. Our bad. But maybe you have the X Factor? It's possible. Being offered a chance at redemption worked for last season's winner Melanie Amaro.
Yes, 13-year-old Diamond has returned to Britney Spears' Teens team after the judges realized they screwed up by tossing so many good contestants last episode. But while we're happy they attempted to right the wrongs, they didn't get it quite right. They really should have brought back David Correy, or at least...

Last week, Simon Cowell (correctly) tore into L.A. Reid's song choices on "The X Factor's" first live performance show, but this week Cowell's target was Demi Lovato. And the feisty young pop star fought right back.
After the show, Lovato's top three contestants -- Jennel Garcia, Paige Thomas and CeCe Frey -- were united in support of their mentor.
"It's a competition for everybody, the contestants and the judges," Thomas tells Zap2it. "All of us put hard work and effort into what we do, this is something we believe in. People like to say Demi attacked back, but I don't think she attacked back, she just believes in what she's doing, she's passionate about it and she's standing firm in it."
Cowell's remarks became increasingly more cutting throughout the night. He started relatively soft after Thomas' performance of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away," noting: "I think Madame...

Well... it wasn't nearly as bad as its first attempt at a live show, but The X Factor still has a lot of work to do. The Top 13 performed for America's vote Wednesday night, and only a handful of acts truly impressed.
You read that right, the Top 13. If you didn't guess it like everyone watching at my place did, Diamond White returned to the competition - because The X Factor likes to pretend it is surprising viewers with twists. When you have now done something like this at least three times in two seasons, it's not really a twist. It's just what you do.
Getting to the performances: the finalists were tasked with singing songs from "some of the greatest movies ever made," which apparently includes Katy Perry: Part of Me. Before recapping the contestants, here are my rankings from Wednesday night's outings.

2. Beatrice Miller

The X Factor kicked off their first week of viewer-voted shows tonight by welcoming back a familiar face.
Diamond White, of Britney Spears' teens, returned for a second shot in the competition Wednesday night, less than a week after her shocking elimination last Thursday.

"We watched the show back and the final 12 we're very happy with," said Simon Cowell at the top of the show. "We think we made a mistake with one act."
With that, a thrilled White emerged telling the crowd it was "awesome" that the judges had a change of heart.
As for the performances, the now-13 acts tackled "movie week," with some of the performers playing homage to members of the judging panel.

Welcome to The X Factor, sponsored by Aleve — the long-acting analgesic with the power to ward off gale-force migraines caused by the pack of perpetually screeching harpies sitting in the first three rows of the audience.
It doesn’t matter what the Top 13 are singing. It doesn’t matter how the judges are reacting. It doesn’t matter if Demi Lovato can’t pronounce the names of the singers she’s mentoring. Simon Cowell used to be the draw of "The X Factor," but someone has usurped his position as the main reason to watch. Not Simon's nemesis, L.A. Reid; not the big name, Britney Spears; and definitely not Khloe Kardashian and her nipples. Rather, the real star of the Fox reality hit is Demi Lovato.
The singer (and, like Britney, former Disney minion) is probably the least known of the four, but Demi showed her strengths during the audition weeks, mentoring her team and, now, the live shows. Britney has been the one getting all the headlines (for mostly fictional tales, I like to hope) and her comments to all the singers haven't been the most helpful (unless you count being called "amazing" constructive criticism), but Demi has been the true support. And she's fun to watch. It could've been easy for Lovato to land in the shadows of Spears, Reid and Cowell,...

What's it like inside a "X Factor" live show? Loud.
And also a lot of fun, at least from the seat Zap2it had during the first live results show. Here are nine quick things we observed inside the studio when the cameras weren't rolling:
Demi Lovato's close encounter with a fan
When Lovato heard that a fan had flown all the way from Brazil to attend the taping, she happily waved the excited girl up to the judges area... even though there was less than a minute left in the commercial break. They shared a long hug and Lovato quickly signed an autograph as the seconds ticked down. The fan returned -- thrilled and shaking -- to her seat just as the cameras started rolling again.
Britney Spears prefers to wave

"The X Factor" got down to business on Season 2's first live elimination show.
Each mentor was forced to pit two of their acts in a "sing-off" and then pick which one would get the boot. It was a swift and efficient way to send four acts home and reduce the Top 16 to a more manageable Top 12.
And the eliminations weren't entirely predictable...
Demi Lovato and the Young Adults
Lovato went first and sent Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas directly to the top 12, which left country crooner Willie Jones and pop wannabe CeCe Frey in the sing-off. Frey took on Irene Cara's "Out Here On My Own" (from "Fame") and knocked it out of the park. We know she can sing, but the Ke$ha-esque routine she did during the Top 16 performances didn't really show that. Tonight was a totally different story. There wasn't much Jones could do to compete,...

Tonight was a tough one for the X Factor mentors. Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell were each able to save two singers from their team based off of last night's performances, with the remaining two taking the stage for a sing-off, leaving only one moving to the top 12. Ultimately, four acts were sent home—here's what went down. Young Adults The first act Lovato put through to the next round was Jennel Garcia. Joining her in the top 12 was Paige Thomas, which meant CeCe Frey and Willie Jones had to sing their heart out for the last spot on Demi's team. CeCe was up first and her performance of "Out Here on My Own" by...

X Factor 2012 eliminated Diamond White,David Correy,Willie Jones,& Sister C tonight. Tonight's elimination show, kicked off with Demi Lovato, revealing who she would put through from her team. She decided to put Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas through, which meant that CeCe and Willie Jones had to sing again for survival. CeCe sang first, and the judges really liked it over her performance from last night. Then Wilie hit the stage to sing his song, and the judges just thought it was ok. Then Demi revealed that she was sending Willie home tonight. He had a good attitude about it,though. Next up, L.A. Reed revealed that Vino Alan and Tate Stephens were safe,so David Correy and Jason Brock had to sing for survival. David Correy sang first with his own rendition of Kelly Clarkson's "Since You Been Gone" song. Then Jason Brock hit the stage to sing his song.

Weeks of auditions have all led to ..... this?
The X Factor went live last night as all the contestants performed for America's vote (but not really because the judges are in charge of eliminations this week) and I was hugely, massively, profoundly, underwhelmed. I mean, it's incredibly telling when a show's biggest headline the next day is about the co-hosts perky nipples.

But lets get constructive about the show's two most problematic elements:
1. Overproduced
One of the biggest complaint fans had about season one was the unnecessary amount of production that went into every performance. From dancers to smoke machines to stage decor, every performance was like the final song on Lady Gaga's biggest tour to date. You've got to earn a full gospel choir.
I had hoped season two would scale back a bit on the spectacle, at least in the beginning. Well, we learned...

We've got to hand it to you, X Factor, you've certainly been keeping us on our toes this season. For two weeks, Fox advertised that the live shows would start November 1st. Then, in a head-scratching act of self-sabotage, the network decided at the last minute to launch them a day early. You know, on Halloween night, when people are more focused on candy and costumes, and just two days after "Frankenstorm" hit the east coast. Now, network execs are probably sitting around wondering why ratings keep plummeting.

"The X Factor's" first live show had its ups and downs Wednesday night (Oct. 31). There were some definite stand-outs ... and some who really kinda blew it. Whether it was them or their mentors, who can say? But yikes.
The Highlights
Paige Thomas was a heckuva performer. It was interesting that Demi took her so '90s, with the song "What Is Love" -- so heavily associated with the Roxbury "SNL" sketch -- and that crazy metal crown of thorns. But her vocal and stage presence were both great.
Sister C sounded great, but Demi nailed it when she said they were too stiff and she expected more out of them as performers. They've got room for improvement.
Jennel Garcia surprised us on "Home Sweet Home." It was much better than we were expecting out of her.
Lyric145, despite doing a weird mash-up of a not-at-all relevant Will Smith song and "Gangnam Style,...

The X Factor's top 16 did their mentors proud Wednesday night as the talented hopefuls showcased their hard work to the world for the very first live show of the season.
With "made in America" as their theme this week, Britney Spears' Teens, Demi Lovato's Young Adults, L.A. Reid's Over-25s and Simon Cowell's Groups fared pretty well on their Halloween night debut.
Video: Britney Gets Tough With 'X Factor' Hopeful
13-year-old Beatrice Miller, 18-year-old Jennel Garcia, and the flirty boys of Emblem3 were noted standouts tonight, as all four judges seemed to unanimously agree on the star power of their competitions' acts.
Apart from a few good-natured squabbles, the momentous episode went off without a hitch, save for Simon Cowell's on-air slip of the tongue, which had to be bleeped by censors during a slightly heated exchange between fellow judge L.A. Reid.
