She may have been the first X Factor mentor knocked out of the competition last year, but that little hiccup won’t stop Demi Lovato from returning to the show’s panel for Season 3, Fox announced today.
“I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on The X Factor,” said Lovato in a press release. “Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better.”

It looks like Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama are officially back on! The two spent Valentine's Day together, and a source reveals to Us Weekly that the two were definitely acting like a couple once again.

"They ordered almost everything on the menu, but they didn't touch it for at least an hour. They stared into each other's eyes the whole time," the source reveals. Demi and Wilmer decided to head to Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant in downtown L.A. for the big night.
But what's more surprising, is that people are just starting to realize that the two are picking up what they left off back in 2010. Besides Valentine's Day, here's two other reasons why the duo have probably been secretly dating for a lot longer:
1. The two were spotted together in September 2012 trying to escape photographers near their car.

The X Factor began its finale week Wednesday with a touching tribute to the 20 children and six adults tragically slain during last week's Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn. Demi Lovato has opened up about her experience as a judge on The X Factor USA. The 'Skyscraper' singer joined the show's judging panel for the current season, replacing season one's Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. In an interview with Parade, Lovato stressed that she has dedicated herself to helping acts like CeCe Frey and Paige Thomas succeed on the series. Describing it as "fun and exciting, but really stressful", she said: "I was surprised at how emotionally invested I became. It hurts to see them go, especially when I know their potential." Lovato also said that she felt intimidated by being the youngest judge on The X Factor (more)...

Ah, the power of the pimp spot.
If you read our X Factor recap yesterday, it probably wasn't as shocking as producers had hoped when Fifth Harmony squeaked by Groups teammates Emblem3 to secure a place in next week's Season Two finale alongside front-runners Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar. (Alas, the breaking news that mentor L.A. Reid is leaving the show didn't involve an epic on-screen meltdown over results; the more mundane explanation lies below.)

Love her or loathe her, CeCe Frey is still going strong on The X Factor. Some speculate it's because spoiler site Vote for the Worst has been encouraging its readers to jam the phone lines in her favor. But we think she's actually won people over – especially considering Vftw initially (and blasphemously, we might add) picked Lyric 145 as its "fave." That means Miss CeCe kept herself afloat for at least three rounds of eliminations.
But we digress. With yet another double elimination looming one week before the semifinals, it...

"The X Factor" lost a bit of talent last week with the eliminations of Vino Alan and Paige Thomas. Viewers of The X Factor were surprised at last week's elimination results considering Paige Thomas and Vino Alan were sent home while CeCe Frey, who has been in the bottom of the rankings for several weeks now, has managed to live to fight another week on the Fox competition. Though the odds doesn't seem to be in her favor, judge Demi Lovato, who also serves as Frey's mentor, isn't giving up. In fact, Lovato is showing her all out support by campaigning hard and urging fans to vote.

Hallelujah! Paige Thomas was finally sent packing during this week's X Factor eliminations. But it was a double-edged sword, as we also lost Vino Alan in the process. Wah!
While Paige has been hanging by a thread for a while now (Rickrolling America Wednesday night probably didn't help), it was a shocking turn for tatted-up teddy bear Vino, who'd stood solid at Number Three for three weeks in a row. This deep into the competition, there is always the chance of a shocking elimination on "The X Factor." And with their second double-elimination in a row, it came as no surprise that this week offered a real shocker. First up, Paige Thomas was eliminated with no chance to sing for her survival. While she'd been a fan and judge favorite, she'd also often been told her vocals weren't up to the level of her star quality.
Later in the broadcast, the bottom two of the remaining seven acts was revealed. It pitted Diamond White against Vino Alan. Demi Lovato has admitted that she is "really upset" about this week's X Factor USA results. "The X Factor" pared its field to the Top 6 on Thursday (Nov. 29), with one surprise elimination and one that was maybe not as big a surprise.
The rankings of the Top 6 didn't hold many huge surprises either -- although it was apparently a very, very tight race for No. 1. According to host Mario Lopez, less than one percentage point separated the three top vote-getters.
Carly Rose Sonnenclar came out on top in the audience vote, with Tate Stevens and Emblem3 right behind her.
At the other end of things, Paige Thomas got Rickrolled early, getting the boot after performing Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" on Wednesday's show. The Top 8 took the stage this week on "The X Factor" and not very much changed. Tate Stevens was still smooth country, Carly Rose Sonenclar was still a little diva and Emblem3 was still boy band heaven or hell (depending on your point of view).
But the one act to really step up her game was Demi Lovato's Paige Thomas putting a sexy spin on Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up."
It might be enough to keep her safe after she landed near the bottom of the rankings last week. This week, CeCe Frey and Fifth Harmony may be on their way out.
What did you think of Paige, and who's your "X Factor" favorite?...

Enough with the pressing X Factor questions... on to this week's performances!

Vino Alan, "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" - Hey, at least it wasn't another patronizing song about America. But it was rather drab, as Demi and Simon both note, with the latter providing the most stinging take: "That was not a $5 million performance." In related news, the sky is blue.

Demi Lovato's Young Adult contestant, who had to sing for survival in last week's results show, only attracted 2.8% of reader votes for her performance of Britney Spears's 'Everytime' last night (November 21). Jennel Garcia became the latest victim to get the ax from The X Factor, as the judges chose to save Paige Thomas instead of her after a dramatic sing off. Jennel, who has vowed to pursue her dream of becoming a star, says that she now wants to shake off the image that she was given by her mentor Demi Lovato, as she feels she "was letting Demi do what she wanted." Meow! Jennel told HollywoodLife.com, "The makeup; the hair; the heels; that wasn't necessarily me and I was letting Demi do what she wanted,...

X Factor USA eliminee Jennel Garcia has admitted that she did not expect to be voted out of the show. The singer was forced to leave the competition in last night's results show after the judges chose to save Paige Thomas over her. Speaking to E! News backstage, Garcia confessed that she was "really surprised" about the result. "I guess I had a little more faith in myself," she said. "But everything happens for a reason, and I have to keep telling myself that." Garcia, who vowed to reverse the effects of her makeover by "dyeing [her] hair black and taking off the heels", promised to keep pursuing a music career. "I'm getting right back into making my own music because one thing I really hated is that we were singing somebody else's (more)...

Ok, what the hell, America? You really thought Lyric 145 and Jennel Garcia deserved to go home more than CeCe Frey, Arin Ray or Paige Thomas? We'd rather assume there are some serious shenanigans going down behind the scenes of The X Factor than believe that viewers purposefully committed such a heinous crime against humanity. But, as we work through the five stages of grief, we now accept that this is why the state of music is the way it is these days.

Simon Cowell has admitted that he loved forcing Demi Lovato to choose between her acts on The X Factor USA last night. During last night's double elimination, Lovato's acts Paige Thomas and Jennel Garcia both found themselves in danger of elimination. When the judges were given their chance to vote, both Britney Spears and La Reid chose to send home Garcia. Cowell then refused to pick before Lovato, forcing her to choose between her artists. While Lovato opted to send Thomas home, Cowell eventually voted for Garcia, so she was the one to be eliminated. Speaking backstage, Cowell told E! News: "I knew I was going to keep Paige, which meant that [Demi] wouldn't have had to make the decision. (more)...

Week three of live eliminations turned out to be a rough night for Demi Lovato on "The X Factor."
After Simon Cowell's hip-hop trio Lyric 145 was eliminated by the public vote, two of the three contestants on Lovato's team -- Paige Thomas and Jennel Garcia -- were forced to go head-to-head in a sing-off to determine the evening's second elimination. And Cowell didn't make the tough moment any easier for Lovato.
After L.A. Reid and Britney Spears voted for Garcia to go home, Cowell could've done the same and Lovato wouldn't have had to cast a vote of her own. Instead, he forced Lovato to make a choice.
"I knew I was gonna keep Paige which meant [Demi] wasn't going to have to make a decision," Cowell explains after the show with his trademark wicked grin. "I thought, bearing in mind they're both your artists, I want to see which one you're going to.

Even thought the Nov. 15 'X Factor' results show was somewhat predictable, Taylor Swift hit the stage and made up for the lackluster Top 10 reveal. Mario Lopez started off the show by kicking Lyric145 to the curb, to the surprise of... well, no one. Co-host Khloe Kardashian did her job and acted like she was upset for them, but we know better. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez sadly passed away a long time ago and we sure as hell don't need her replaced. (Sorry!) Taylor Swift took the stage with "State of Grace" off her new album Red, and looked adorable as usual. I heard rumors she and One Direction hottie Harry Styles were flirting up a storm backstage. (I would have liked to see that instead.) Nevertheless, the two acts who sang for survival were Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas. Jennel sang "The Reason" because for some reason (hah,...

Tension hung in the air, thicker and more pronounced than Demi Lovato’s ’80s-era eyebrows, on tonight’s X Factor Top 12 results show. Even Khloe Kardashian could feel it: “Live on stage we’ve got a sensational performance from the incredible Taylor Swift!” she declared, eyes burning with ennui (or was she merely distracted by a shiny object dangling in the distance?).
Whatever the case, the telecast took a hideous turn within its first 20 minutes. No, I’m not talking about this exchange in which the Kardashian woman and cohost Mario “yes my soul is in the Lost & Found” Lopez...

Jennel Garcia and Lyric 145 have been eliminated from The X Factor USA. The Massachusetts teenager and the hip-hop trio left the Fox competition in tonight's (November 15) results show. Simon Cowell's group Lyric 145 were the first to be axed after it was revealed that they finished bottom of the public vote. Hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian later announced that Demi Lovato's acts Garcia and Paige Thomas had finished 11th and 10th in the voting, and would have to sing for survival. Britney Spears and La Reid chose to send home Garcia, who performed 'The Reason' by Hoobastank, before Cowell and Lovato engaged in a back and forth over who should vote first. Carly Rose Sonenclar has topped the X Factor USA poll on Digital Spy for the second week in a row. The 13-year-old's rendition of Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On' impressed both the judges and readers, earning her 52.11%. Fifth Harmony also impressed, coming in second with 7.14%, while CeCe Frey made third place with 6.89% of the vote. Fans were less impressed by aspiring pop divas Beatrice Miller and Paige Thomas, who received only 2.95% and 2% of votes, respectively. Lyric 145 fared the worst, (more)...

The X Factor featured some of its best performances ever with Carly Rose Sonenclar winning the judges' hearts with Celion Dion's My Heart Will Go On. Another judge favorite was Jennel Garcia who 'nailed it' with her rendition of Tina Turner's Rolling On A River. Other performances included last week's favorite Tate Stevens singing From This Moment, Diamond White performing her version of Beyonce's Halo and a not so judge favorite Beatrice Miller singing Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time. Lyric 145 sang Queen's We Will Rock You, Arin Rey performed Crazy For You by Madonna, Paige Thomas sang Donna Summer's hit song Last Dance and Fifth Harmony wowed the judges with Mariah Carey's Hero. Rounding out the 12 performances, was Vino Allen singing Tina Turner's Lets Stay Together, Emblem 3 singing Alicia Keys' No One and Cece Frey singing All By Myself Are you...

The X Factor's Top 12 performed for America's vote on Wednesday night. Who did enough to secure a spot in the next round? Who will be heading home on Thursday night?
Read along for our take, and then vote for your favorite in our poll...
Jennel Garcia: (Proud Mary) I couldn't disagree with the judges more on this one. I thought she said she was really into dance. Why didn't she dance at all in that performance? Just running around on stage isn't dancing. That running around did however cause her not be able to do anything vocally. This was a very run of the mill rendition of a song that isn't all that great for a singing competition to begin with.
Grade: D+
Tate Stevens: (From this Moment) This was a very decent duet with whoever was singing that background vocal. I have to say this about Tate,...

Sometimes I wish I’d stuck with my late-’90s foray into yoga, the better to watch The X Factor while balanced on the top of my noggin. I mean, we’re all desperately seeking a different vantage point from which to make sense of this loud, brightly lit, oftentimes confounding affair, right?
Until I become the best-selling author of How Slezak Got His Namaste Back, however, I’m just going to have to rely on my old friends sauvignon blanc and incredulousness to help me endure the supercalifragilisticwhattheeffjusthappened-ness of it all.

Yes, reality TV junkies, The X Factor‘s Top 12 performance night is mere hours away, which can only mean one thing: Paige Thomas is praying quietly in a corner that the show’s director doesn’t embarrass her with another unfortunate upskirt shot this week. Well, that, and it’s time for our weekly countdown of the entire Season 2 field, ranked from most- to least-likely to feel the sting of the results-show guillotine come Thursday evening.

"I did it for the gays. And Japan." Those were the goofy departing words of "Mr. Entertainment" Jason Brock, the first X Factor contestant to be eliminated based on viewer votes. No real shocker there, considering he shouldn't even have made it into the live rounds to begin with. Neither was the fact that "unlikable" CeCe Frey rounded out the bottom two. No, the true surprise of the night was that, for the very first time on any singing competition, the order in which viewer votes ranked the acts was...

Tonight we found out exactly where each of the top 13 acts stands in the votes! Do you think the right person was sent home? One Direction kicked off the Nov. 8 episode of The X Factor with its hit single "Live While We're Young," and I totally fan-girled over Harry Styles the whole time. (He's legal!) Then we were subjected to NFL quarterback Drew Brees trying to make jokes as the "sixth member." It was super cheesy, but luckily the boys of 1D performed again with their new song "Little Things," and we got to look back at their journey from X Factor to stardom. As for the top 13, these are the acts that made it through in order of most-voted: Tate Stevens Carly Rose Sonenclar Vino Alan Diamond White Fifth Harmony Emblem3 Jennel Garcia Paige Thomas Lyric145 Beatrice Miller Arin Ray What. And we're down to the... Dirty Dozen? Delightful Dozen? Daring Dozen?
We'll work on that, but either way: 12 contestants now remain on The X Factor after the audience voted its first contestant off tonight. Who advanced?
The following six names received the good news first:
Arin Ray Paige Thomas Diamond White Vino Alan Jennel Garcia Emblem3
From there, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, Beatrice Miller, Lyric 145 and Fifth Harmony were also left off the hook, leaving CeCe Frey to do battle with Jason Brock for the final spot.
Frey belted out a version of "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me," while Brock went with "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and, with the judges splitting their vote, the final say went to America.
Which was bad news for Jason Brock. He was sent packing.
"I want to say I did it for the gays and Japan," Brock joked about getting the boot,...
