There’s definitely a new quick path to Egot — or at least three-quarters of it. First Cynthia Erivo won a Tony, Grammy and Emmy for “The Color Purple.” Then Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones achieved the same triple play for “Dear Evan Hansen.” And on Friday night, May 3, Katrina Lenk and Ari’el Stachel accomplished the same rare feat for their performances in “The Band’s Visit.” It’s thanks to a relatively new category at the Daytime Emmys: Best Musical Performance in a Daytime Program.
