Bob Edwards(1947-2024)
Bob Edwards was the popular host of NPR's Morning Edition for 24 years.
He graduated from the University of Louisville and got his first radio job at a station in Indiana. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, producing and anchoring TV and radio news programs for the American Forces Korea Network. After the service, he was hired as a news anchor at WTOP in Washington DC, and earned a master's degree in communications at American University. He joined NPR in 1974, four years after its launch.
He won a Peabody Award and was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2004.
