Call Me Kat is adding another big name to its guest-starring roster this week.
Thursday's new episode promises to be another comical episode, and we have an exclusive first look.
Margaret Cho appears as Val, a local cat lover preparing to compete in the Pretty Kitty Cat show.
Her first meeting with Kat is anything but sweet when Val strongly implies that Kat has no chance in the competition with her cat.
"To take her mind off their breakup and Max and Zoey's (guest star Margie Mays) new successful song, Kat attends a cat show with Sheila and Randi," Fox teases of the storyline.
"Kat's competitive side is brought to life, when local cat lover Val (guest star Margaret Cho) thinks Kat and her rescue cat have no chance of bringing home a trophy."
It's a comical scene showcasing Val's tenacity to win, but Kat is not fond of being counted out.

Katy Mixon (American Housewife), Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs), Cree Cicchino (And Just Like That…) and Connor Kalopsis (The Grinder) are set as leads in Unplanned in Akron, CBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot from Schuyler Helford (Call Me Kat), Erik Feig’s Picturestart and CBS Studios.
Written by Helford with Emily R. Wilson supervising, Unplanned In Akron is a series about teenagers Brianna and Tyler (Cicchino and Kalopsis), who are navigating parenthood in the best way they know how. With a little help from their friends and parents, they’ll learn that mistakes in life don’t have to derail your life – they will learn that no matter what age you are, taking care of a child is no joke — but sometimes, you just gotta laugh (or cry) your way through it.
Mixon will play Wendy, Tyler’s mom, and a barista at a coffee counter where Brianna works as a cashier.

Cree Cicchino, Connor Kalopsis, Katy Mixon and Christopher Gorham have been cast in “Unplanned in Akron,” CBS’s teen-parenting comedy pilot from Schuyler Helford.
The series follows two teenagers navigating parenthood in the best way they know how. With a little help from their friends and parents, they’ll learn that mistakes in life don’t have to derail your life — that no matter what age you are, taking care of a child is no joke — but sometimes, you just have to laugh (or cry) your way through it.
Cicchino plays Brianna, who is sharp-witted, outspoken and unfiltered. She’s emotionally mature beyond her years because she basically grew up playing “mom” to her four younger siblings. Now, she has an 8-month-old of her own. She and Tyler have an unbreakable bond and find each other hilarious. Cicchino is known for starring in “And Just Like That,” “Mr. Iglesias” and “The Sleepover.

Seal Team star Max Thieriot has closed a deal to headline CBS drama pilot Cal Fire, a project he co-wrote and executive produces.
Thieriot’s acting deal for the pilot comes on the heels of Seal Team getting renewed for Season 6 by Paramount+. I hear Thieriot is the only main cast member who does not have a deal for Season 6 as he has been waiting to see what happens with Cal Fire, which has been a passion project for him. According to sources, if Cal Fire gets picked up to series, he potentially could do both shows. I hear everyone is talking and there are positive signs that things would be figured out.
In light of the uncertainty, the Season 5 finale of Seal Team ended in a cliffhanger for Thieriot’s Clay Spenser that could go either way. On the way back to Mali, Clay (Thieriot) tells Jason (David Boreanaz...

“Haunt,” an early Halloween arrival that traps its collegiate protagonists inside an all-too-fatal holiday attraction, delivers a satisfying quantity of creeps and frights that more than compensate for the occasional lull. A step up from found-footage horror pic “Nightlight,” Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ last directorial collaboration, this latest isn’t a beacon of conceptual originality, either. But that doesn’t matter much, as the writer-directors (co-scenarists of “A Quiet Place”) have a firm hold on atmosphere and demonstrate diverse enough suspense tactics to avoid a sense of slasher formula — while nonetheless hewing fairly close to that template.
With producer Eli Roth’s name as an additional lure, this should do well among genre fans in a limited 10-city theatrical release Sept. 13, simultaneous with On Demand and digital launch.
Though shot in Kentucky, “Haunt” is set in Carbondale, Ill., an improbably named but actual midwest college town. It’s Halloween,...

On Halloween night, a group of college friends travel to a remote country location to enter an extreme haunted house attraction. Extreme because it promises to feed on all their darkest fears. But the night turns deadly as they come to the horrifying realization that some nightmares are real and the mischief-makers behind the enterprise are something else altogether.
Films about Halloween-set haunted house attractions are nothing new, so what can a film, by the writers of the well-received, critcally-acclaimed, audience-pleasing A Quiet Place, bring to the genre? If they hype is to be believed, a lot. However in truth it turns out nothing much really. And nothing that wasn’t done a Lot better by The Houses October Built (aka The Houses of Halloween).

"Is this supposed to be scary?" Momentum Pictures has unveiled the first official trailer for an indie horror titled Haunt, a new haunted house horror co-directed by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods. This insanely freaky looking film is about a group of friends who encounter an "extreme" haunted house that promises to feed on their darkest fears. The night turns deadly as they come to the horrifying realization that some nightmares are real. Ohh yeah. They threw in every possible scary-as-f*!k idea into this and it looks excruciatingly horrifying. Katie Stevens stars, with Will Brittain, Lauryn Alisa McClain, Andrew Caldwell, Shazi Raja, Schuyler Helford, Phillip Johnson Richardson, Chaney Morrow. Looks way, way better than it should and I hope it's as terrifying as this trailer promises. Here's the first official trailer for Scott Beck & Bryan Woods' Haunt, direct from Momentum's YouTube: On Halloween, a group of friends encounter an...
