This interview does not contain major spoilers for Archer: Into the Cold but does tease certain moments.
It’s not the norm for an animated series to last for 14 seasons and nearly 150 episodes, and yet Archer has gone out with gumption, grace, and gravitas. The animated spy satire has gone through many facelifts over the years — including several “coma seasons” that transformed the espionage series into a film noir, adventure serial, and space opera — only to return to spy antics with greater confidence than ever. It may feel like Archer has done everything at this point, but the show is finally ready for its biggest challenge yet: an ending.
Archer: Into the Cold is a super-sized series finale that ends the long-running comedy on the high note that it deserves. Archer’s collective brain trust, executive producers Casey Willis, Matt Thompson, and producer Pierre Cerrato, get candid on bringing this...

Plot: With the Un voting to outlaw independent spy agencies, Archer and the gang have to work outside the law to save the world from an unlikely duo in this epic series finale event.
Review: Back in October, the eighth and final episode of Archer’s fourteenth season debuted, seemingly bringing the animated series to a close. But, at the end of the episode, it was revealed that a three-part series finale subtitled Into The Cold would premiere in December. As a movie-length closer to the long-running espionage comedy, Archer: Into the Cold is a fitting wrap-up to the adventures of the private spy agency known for mucking up international affairs for over a decade. With the return of some characters from prior years and delivering a goodbye for the main ensemble, Archer: Into The Cold is a far more satisfying end to the series than we got just a couple of months ago.

After 14 seasons of bawdy spy hi-jinks, Archer is calling it quits — but the Fxx comedy managed to deliver one final twist on the way out.
If you haven’t watched in a while, here’s a quick update: Lana is running the spy agency now after the departure of Malory (voiced by the late Jessica Walter), and the agency has a sassy new British spy, Zara Khan, played by Natalie Dew. Other than that, it’s pretty much business as usual in Thursday’s series finale, with Archer and his pals springing into action when a fleet of killer drones start murdering ex-iia employees.

There is a new way for fans of Archer who have Spectrum cable but not Hulu to watch the Fxx animated series’ 14th and final season. The Emmy-winning comedy has expanded the availability of its current 14th season by making episodes available post-premiere on VOD systems for the FX and Fxx linear channels.
The issue arose after the new agreement between Disney and Spectrum parent Charter, which came together after 10 days of interrupted carriage, included the drop of eight Disney ad-supported cable networks, including Fxx and Fxm, from Spectrum platforms. As Deadline reported last week, FX brass were looking for solutions on Archer, which was seriously impacted as its final season had just premiered when the Disney networks went dark on Spectrum systems on Aug. 31.
Spectrum is the No.2 cable operator in the U.S. with 14.7 million customers, with Fxx and the other discontinued networks losing close to 20% of their reach,...

Plot: The Agency teams up with Interpol to take down a highly organized ring of jewel thieves. Archer’s skeptical as their Interpol contact seems to be treating the mission as more of an audition…but for which side? Written by Mark Ganek.
Review: Fourteen years ago, Archer debuted on FX and introduced the world to the best spy comedy on television. Led by H. Jon Benjamin’s pitch-perfect vocal performance, Archer skewered everything from James Bond to Mad Men and more over its decade and a half on the air. Adam Reed’s series has been consistently hilarious, with multiple forays into genres like noir, science fiction, and an homage to Miami Vice. Now, the final season of Archer is here, and it is thankfully just as great as the thirteen that came before it. Rather than spending time rehashing and reflecting on jokes and plots from prior years,...

FX’s long-running animated series “Archer” is finally coming to an end. The network announced on Monday that Season 14 of the show, which premieres on August 30 on Fxx and streams the next day on Hulu, will be its last.
No additional information about the show’s conclusion was given.
Created by Adam Reed, “Archer” premiered in 2009 as a riff on the James Bond archetype with H. Jon Benjamin’s suave but dumb Sterling Archer running various missions as part of his mother’s wildly dysfunctional intelligence agency.
After the first four seasons, the show started reinventing itself with themed seasons starting with Season 5’s “Archer Vice,” complete with 1980s aesthetics. Other seasons saw the crew on the run, in a full-on noir and in outer space. There was seemingly no end to where “Archer” could go.
