Michael Pedro is a senior concept artist in the entertainment industry.
He studied Computer Animation at the Ringling College of Art Design, graduating with a BFA in 2005. By this time, he had already been hard at work completing designs and illustrations for companies such as Alderac Entertainment Group, SpiralHouse Ltd, and MVCreations.
Upon graduation, he joined the video game industry giant Electronic Arts in Orlando, Florida as a 3D artist. There, he contributed to video game console titles such as Superman Returns and NASCAR 2008, drawing upon his CG background to help develop Next-Generation work-flows. Later, he was part of a team which co-developed and maintained a studio forum charged with brainstorming new and original game properties.
Meanwhile, he also maintained a strong relationship with Imaginary Friends Studios, having provided illustrations for the Soul Calibur III CCG and the World of Warcraft TCG, as well as environment designs for F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point.
In the fall of 2006, he made the move to Sony Online Entertainment in Austin, Texas, becoming a core 3D artist on DC Universe Online. In the summer of 2008, he made the transition into full time concept design, becoming a key member of the internal design team on the DC Universe Online project. He also occasionally contributed illustration work for the Legends of Norrath TCG and the Star Wars Galaxies TCG.
As of May 2011, he is a senior concept artist at Certain Affinity in Austin, Texas.
He has had artwork published in Exotique 6, Spectrum 17, Expose 9, Art of the Dragon: The Definitive Collection of Contemporary Dragon Paintings, Awakening: The Art of Halo 4, and Expose 11.
