Sam Solakyan
- Producer
Entrepreneur and noted philanthropist, Sam Solakyan, is CEO of Global
Holdings, Inc. which started in 2002 as a private equity/venture
capital firm.
Sam Solakyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia and immigrated with his parents to America when his was six in search of higher education and a better life for their family. What he found was so much more. Having had instilled in him at an early age the value of a dollar and a true work ethic Sam was one to never shy away from hard work. Sam, who has always been one to put his family first, far above himself, worked whatever job was necessary to help his mother and father. From being a door to door salesman to cleaning the stock room of a grocery store there was never a job he would shy away from. This mentality of hard work continued on into his teenage years when he purchased his first investment of a pager kiosk in a nearby mall co-owned by his father. Sam was only fourteen years old at the time.
From there Sam's entrepreneurial spirit continued to grow and with every risk that was taken even greater rewards ensued, but that wasn't enough for Sam. He craved education and higher learning, so while working full-time, he began his undergraduate degree at the University of Phoenix where he later graduated with honors. With a bachelor's degree in business management under his belt, Sam started building the enterprise that would launch him into corporate success and eventually lead to the formation of Paramount Management Services.
As CEO of Global Holdings, Inc., Solakyan has led his business to substantial growth with several major acquisitions under the Global umbrella most notably Vital Imaging, now one of California's largest MRI providers. Other subsidiaries include Sovrin Health Systems, Paramount Management Services and United Pharmaceuticals. Following his success in the healthcare industry, Solakyan sought to broaden his horizons by venturing into new branches of business. In 2013, he acquired majority share in Beyond VIP, which offers a sales and relationship management system for the club and night life industry. A longtime supporter of the arts, Solakyan has set out to pursue a lifelong love of movies and filmmaking as a producer. His current major project, Kidnapping Freddy Heineken, is a feature film directed by Daniel Alfredson and starring Anthony Hopkins, Jim Sturgess, Sam Worthington and Ryan Kwanten. It is set for release in 2014.
