"Out there we are all lost." UK's Bulldog Film has revealed the trailer for a film titled The Moor, marking the feature directorial debut of genre filmmaker Chris Cronin (who we've featured before). This British folk horror film is based on true stories about murders in the countryside. Sophia La Porta stars as Claire, who is approached by the father of her murdered childhood friend to help investigate the haunted moor he believes is his son's final resting place. Cronin explains: "My aim with this story was to create an original horror film set in my home county of Yorkshire. Instead of delving into the fictional murders themselves, I focused on the aftermath and how something so terrible affects lives and relationships. What happens when so much grief and guilt are left unresolved?" The cast includes David Edward-Robertson, Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips, Mark Peachey, Vicki Hackett, and Bernard Hill (one of...

The story of three women who embark on a European train-ride tour in honor of their dearly departed friend, “Off the Rails” is inevitably colored by the 2020 death of Kelly Preston, who delivers her final screen performance as a member of this sorrowful trio. Such sentimental circumstances, however, can’t overshadow the creakiness of Jules Williamson’s film, which despite its title Laughs, tears, healing and incessant Blondie songs are all part of its rickety package, none of which is likely to help it make inroads with audiences when it debuts in theaters and on VOD on Dec. 10.
A high tolerance for corniness and the sound of Debbie Harry’s voice are prerequisites for “Off the Rails,” whose tale swiftly reunites lonely Kate (Jenny Seagrove), motherly Liz (Sally Phillips) and discontent actress Cassie (Preston) for the funeral of their fourth musketeer, Anna. Following a service at which Anna’s mother (a cameoing Judi Dench) speaks,...

"Men never fail to let me down." Screen Media Films has debuted the official US trailer for an indie comedy titled Off the Rails, arriving in the US this December. It already opened first in the UK during the summer earlier in the year. Three fifty-something women set out to repeat their post-graduation trip across Europe adventures of their youth, after their close friend passes away leaving them rail tickets, and a final request: to take her teenage daughter with them. Oh this sounds like so much fun! Always amusing watching people try to make sense of European travel. This stars Kelly Preston, Jenny Seagrove, Sally Phillips, with newcomer Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips, as well as appearances by Ben Miller, Franco Nero, and Judi Dench. Featuring the music of Blondie! Of course. The place they're supposed to go is the Palma Cathedral on the island of Mallorca, to see "God's Disco Ball" a natural phenomenon.

Kelly Preston’s final film role has been fondly remembered by husband John Travolta, who posted the trailer to Off The Rails on his Instagram.
“Off the Rails is Kelly’s last film,” Travolta wrote. “She was very proud of it and of all of the wonderful talent that she got to work with in it.”
Travolta’s 21-year-old daughter with Preston, Ella Travolta, shared three red heart emojis on the post.
Off The Rails, which premiered in theaters Friday, stars Jenny Seagrove, Sally Phillips, Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips, Ben Miller, Franco Nero and Judi Dench. Preston plays an American named Cassie, one of three friends in their 50s on an adventure across Europe to celebrate their recently deceased friend’s last wish. The deceased leaves four train rickets for her friends on the condition that they take her teenage daughter with them.

Kelly Preston’s last performance is a formulaic film about three fiftysomething pals talk menopause and midlife crises on a Euro rail trip
“Featuring the music of Blondie” is how this aspiring “feelgood film of the summer” announces itself, though it’s not obvious why the band would license virtually all their major earworms to this peppy but entirely formulaic comedy-drama. Clearly, the producers are looking to rival the Mamma Mia! effect – though Off the Rails is not a true musical, with the characters themselves only occasionally breaking out a bit of Blondie on a limited basis as they embark on their Euro rail trip. But the net effect of Debbie Harry popping up at 10-second intervals on the soundtrack to top up levels of ironic sass is to highlight how that quality is in generally short supply in the script.

Jules Williamson's tale of resparked middle-aged friendship has surely been made with mums in mind, many of whom will feel a nostalgic glow at the thought of interrailing - and, sight unseen, it is also likely to hold plenty of attraction for mum and daughter cinema fans over the summer. They should be warned to dial down their expectations, particularly if they're hoping for a Mamma Mia! style singalong, as the Blondie music here, though plentiful and energetic, is chiefly used to overlay the action rather than providing an anchor within it.
The set up is simple - 50something trio Kate (Jenny Seagrove), Cassie and Liz (Sally Phillips) attempt to recreate an interrailing trip to Palma from their youth, after the death of their friend Anna, taking Anna's daughter Maddie (Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips) with them. In...

Screen Media has bought all U.S. rights to the comedy-drama “Off the Rails,” starring the late Kelly Preston, Jenny Seagrove, Sally Phillips, Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips, Ben Miller, Franco Nero and Judi Dench.
Screen Media plans to release the film in theaters and on demand in the first half of 2021. “Off the Rails” is one of the final roles for Preston, who died in July at the age of 57 after battling breast cancer. Metro International is handling foreign sales at the online American Film Market, which launches Monday.
“Off the Rails” is Jules Williamson’s feature directorial debut, inspired by Williamson’s own real-life events. Three friends, now in their 50s, recreate an interrail journey from their youth across Europe to fulfill the dying wish of their close friend — whose place is taken by her 18-year-old daughter. With lost passports, train strikes and romantic entanglements thrown their way, they must put...

With the mystery of Professor Stoddart’s death reaching some conclusion, the town of Fortitude seemed out of the shadows when Shirley proceeded to brutally attack her own mother. The last two episodes have examined the aftermath of both Shirley’s attack coming to light, and Frank’s attempts to come to terms with his son’s apparent criminal activity, among other things. This has resulted in the pressure cooker environment of Fortitude threatening to bubble over as the town finds itself forcefully isolated from the mainland, and has led the show down some intriguing paths.
The paranoia gripping the town in the wake of Shirley’s attack on her mother has been fascinating to watch.

Back in October last year Screenterrier hosted a casting call for a lead regular role in a new Sky Atlantic 12 episode drama series Fortitude which is centered on a mysterious death in the Arctic Circle.
Newcomer Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips landed the role of 10 year Carrie Morgan. Elizabeth, from Leigh-on-Sea, attends the Pauline Quirke Academy in Southend and this is her first major TV role.
Fortitude is described as a place like nowhere else. Although surrounded by the savage beauty of the Arctic landscape, Fortitude is one of the safest towns on earth. There has never been a violent crime here. Until now. In such a close-knit community a murder touches everyone and the unsettling, mysterious horror of this crime threatens the future of the town itself.
The series has an all-star cast including Stanley Tucci, Michael Gambon, Christopher Eccleston, Sofie Grabol, Richard Dormer, Jessica Raine, Luke Treadaway, Nicholas Pinnock and Johnny Harris.
