Jeff Bonemeyer
Jeff Bonemeyer was born in 1969 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Arts from the University of North Dakota in 1993 and is known by collectors, veterans, and historians for his authentic recreations of Vietnam War era embroidered insignia. Bonemeyer also produces private artwork incorporating some the techniques used for his patches.
Bonemeyer's authentic recreations of Vietnam War insignia have appeared in the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History as part of a temporary exhibit honoring legendary Vietnam helicopter pilot LTC Hugh MIlls. Bonemeyer made the replica patches for Mills' flight shirt as part of the display.
In late 2012, he was contacted to produce the camouflage name tape on Arnold Schwarzenegger's black tactical vest for his character, John Wharton, in the 2014 movie "Sabotage." Other items were produced for the movie as well, however the character's name tape is most prominent.
In 2015, Bonemeyer was again contacted for a project involving insignia for LTC Mills, providing a complete set of replica embroidered insignia on a jungle jacket that Mills subsequently wore on his return to Vietnam for a documentary film endeavor that same year.
Bonemeyer embroidered shoulder sleeve insignia for the 2017 Netflix movie "Bright." The patches were for the Natserco Tactical Solutions private security force uniforms, comprising of a white oval field with black edge and black lettering and design in the shape of two hands forming an eye shape with a cross hairs in the center. "NATSERCO" over the top and "Tactical Solutions" on the bottom. Other items that appeared briefly were three white triangular patches on the backs of several tactical vests that read "Napalm sticks Orcs / Elves / Brights" respectively.
Jeff is forever grateful to those who have supported and encouraged his work.
