The annual showcase Spotify House will return to the Ole Red honky-tonk in Nashville for CMA Fest 2024. Marking its fifth year, the event will pack dozens of performances into its schedule across three days from Thursday, June 6, through Saturday, June 8. This year’s lineup includes appearances from Luke Bryan, Lady A, Cole Swindell, Brett Young, and other well-known stars, but it’s the focus on up-and-coming breakouts like Wyatt Flores, Dylan Gossett, and “Austin” singer Dasha that give this year’s lineup its fresh edge.

Surveillance video from the night of Chris Young’s arrest at a Nashville bar appears to contradict a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent’s claims that the country star assaulted the officer during the incident Monday night.
In a pair of surveillance videos posted Tuesday to Facebook by Nashville’s Newschannel 5 reporter Nick Beres, Young — wearing the leather jacket in the video — is seen approaching the plainclothes Tabc agents, non-aggressively touching one of the agents on the arm. The agent responded by forcefully shoving Young backward, causing him to tumble...

Chris Young, who will release the new album Young Love & Saturday Nights on March 22, was arrested on Monday night at a Nashville bar after allegedly getting into a confrontation with an agent for the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
According to arrest documents obtained by Rolling Stone, Young, 38, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault of an officer.
The incident apparently stemmed from a routine compliance check of identification and license cards by the Tabc of bars on Demonbreun Hill, a popular strip of nightclubs in Nashville. While the...

Luke Combs has plotted out a busy touring schedule in 2022, making up for the lost time with various festival appearances at Stagecoach and New Orleans Jazzfest before he embarks on a summer stadium tour.
When that trek is over, the “Tomorrow Me” singer will regroup and head out on the Middle of Somewhere Tour in September, playing a series of back-to-back arena shows that’ll take him nearly to the end of the year.
The tour gets underway Sept. 2 in Bangor, Maine, and features Combs playing two consecutive nights in nearly every city he visits.

Chris Young had just released the new single “Raised on Country” in January 2019 when he received a text from Joe Diffie. Young, in his drawling Tennessee baritone, name-checks Diffie in the chorus to the genre-referencing song, crediting the “John Deere Green” singer with giving him his “honky-tonk attitude.”
Diffie was texting to thank Young for the gesture of respect and for shining a light on his legacy. A little over a year later, Diffie died from Covid-19. It was a tragic loss not just to country music but to Chris Young’s very being.

Chris Young has firmed up plans for his eighth studio album, Famous Friends. Named for Young’s CMT Award-winning collaborative track with Kane Brown, Famous Friends arrives August 6th and features the newly released single “Rescue Me.”
The midtempo “Rescue Me” was written by Young with Josh Hoge, Mark Holman, Matthew McGinn and Christian Davis Stalnecker and depicts a strong guy feeling extremely vulnerable as he gets down on one knee. “What’s a happy ending if I can’t get the girl/What’s it matter if I save the world?...

Three of country music’s most popular male artists will headline the 2021 Faster Horses Festival. Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, and Thomas Rhett will each close out a night of the three-day Brooklyn, Michigan, country gathering.
Set for July 16th through 18th, Faster Horses 2021 is essentially the 2020 edition, at least in terms of headliners — Combs, Aldean, and Rhett were all slated to anchor last year’s fest, which, like so many other live events, was derailed by the pandemic.

Today — barely nine months since the pandemic took off in earnest — the United States has surpassed 10 million cases of the coronavirus. That’s according to Johns Hopkins University, a bastion of public health and medicine, not a media outlet that some may choose to dismiss as “fake.” More than 237,000 Americans have died since the first reported case of Covid-19 in January.
And yet, today, a number of country music artists — some who should more than know better — are spouting off about “hypocrisy.” As they see it, this weekend’s spontaneous...

It’s been nearly a week since a series of tornadoes struck the Nashville area on March 3rd, causing widespread damage in the city’s densely populated neighborhoods — including the destruction of beloved music venue the Basement East — and killing more than two dozen people in the surrounding area. Volunteers have been working overtime to clear streets and yards or bring food and other necessities to affected areas, but it’s going to be a long road to recover and rebuild.

It often seems like women have almost as hard a time catching a break at country awards shows as they do on country radio, judging from the fact that neither the Cma Awards nor Acm Awards could come up with a single female to nominate for entertainer of the year for the last two years running. That women problem didn’t run over to the Cmt Music Awards, where Carrie Underwood was not only nominated for the top prize Wednesday night but won it, picking up the fan-voted video of the year award for “Cry Pretty.”
That Underwood was not in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to accept the prize was nothing personal. She’d just finished an off-site performance of her new single, “Southside,” a few miles away for an outdoor crowd of glowstick wavers at the Parthenon. Underwood also won favorite female video for “Love Wins,” putting her tally...

The Cmt Music Awards — country’s version of MTV’s VMAs — have long had a reputation as the genre’s most relaxed, anything-can-happen awards show. They also have an extensive history, with their origins stretching back to 1967, when the country publication Music City News began presenting honors to the genre’s finest. Merged with the Nashville Network’s Viewers Choice Awards in the Nineties, they briefly became the Cmt Flameworthy Awards from 2002 until 2005, when they were rechristened under their current, less cumbersome name. The fan-voted honors serve as an unofficial kickoff to Cma Fest,...

The blind auditions for the 16th cycle of “The Voice” are over, which means it’s time for the highly anticipated battle rounds.
