In April, country duo Maddie & Tae were scheduled to launch their headlining Tourist in This Town Tour with rising trio Avenue Beat serving as their support. That arrangement fell apart due to the pandemic, but the performers still managed to collaborate on a couple new recordings for Spotify Singles, including a cover of Harry Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar.”
In contrast to Styles’ disco-tinged hit from Fine Line, the two groups take a more stripped-down, dreamy approach to the song. Underpinned by acoustic guitar strums and wisps of pedal steel guitar, it...

The best music always comes from the heart. Like many country music artists, Maddie & Tae have had to deal with postponed performances and celebrations like the 2020 Acm Awards because of the Coronavirus. But fortunately for fans, the duo made up of Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye are still able to release their highly anticipated sophomore album The Way It Feels today. And spoiler alert: The ladies promise it will be well worth the wait. "Once you see the full album, it all starts making sense where you hear this cycle of love, loss and redemption," Maddie explained to E! News exclusively. "The fans are going to hear our hearts and hear a lot of really personal things that we've been through...

Maddie & Tae show off their signature harmonies in a new acoustic performance video for their single “Die From a Broken Heart,” which will appear on the “Girl in a Country Song” duo’s upcoming second album.
Centering on a conversation between mother and daughter, “Die From a Broken Heart” disguises itself behind seemingly practical questions about removing black mascara from pillowcases and wine stains from a dress. But the chorus knits it all together: she’s having a really rough go of it after a particularly nasty breakup, and moms usually have all the answers.

When Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye burst onto the scene in 2014 with “Girl in a Country Song,” the duo were often highlighted as part of the next chapter for country music. That breakout hit, along with the biting “Shut Up and Fish,” helped to get them placed in the same category as Miranda Lambert, the Dixie Chicks and Carrie Underwood; namely, women who don’t take any shit. But with their latest project, Maddie and Tae wanted to show fans the other dimensions of themselves.

It’s never too early to start talking about Nashville!
The cast of the Cmt drama went back to work in late September, gearing up for season six of the hit show, which found itself not only on a new network and with a new showrunner last season, but halfway through, also down its star, Connie Britton (Rayna Jaymes).
