Darren Aronofsky often gives actresses some amazing supporting roles (see Jennifer Connolly in “Requiem for a Dream,” Marisa Tomei in “The Wrestler,” Mila Kunis in “Black Swan”), and “mother!” is shaping up to be no exception. The marketing thus far has primarily concerned leads Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, but co-star Michelle Pfeiffer finally gets her due in the first official clip, embedded below, and it’s a juicy one.
Pfeiffer is playing the wife of Ed Harris’ character, one of two uninvited guests who show up and wreak havoc on Jennifer Lawrence’s protagonist. The official trailer suggests that Lawrence’s husband, played by Bardem, is in on whatever disturbing plans Pfeiffer and Harris have in store. The first clip finds Pfeiffer devilishly asking Lawrence about whether or not she wants to have a child. The “Rosemary’s Baby” vibes are palpable.

Thanks to a post-mortem conducted by Art of VFX, we now have a better look at the Iron Spider suit as it appeared during the finale of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Following his colossal dust-up with The Vulture (Michael Keaton), Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is drafted into Avengers HQ, where Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) intends on revealing him to the press as the latest addition to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. It’s an offer no one would dare refuse and yet, that’s exactly what Parker did, politely telling Stark “thanks, but no thanks,” as he skips off to embrace his mantle as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
All in all, it’s a fitting finale to Jon Watts’ standalone pic, but for Peter, it comes at the expense of the cutting-edge Iron Spider suit, and if you’re curious to take a closer look at the armor, a new still...

More than 30 years after the Jim Henson and David Bowie cult classic, Hollywood is ready to revisit the fantastical Labyrinth universe once more.
Truth be told, there have been rumblings of a sequel to the 1986 original for years, and Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman has clarified in the past that the intention is to revisit, not reboot, the beloved property. Turns out that’s still the case, and Deadline is reporting today that Don’t Breathe helmer Fede Alvarez has closed a deal to direct. Jay Basu has been tasked with script duties, who last collaborated with the filmmaker on quasi-sequel/reboot The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
It’s the next chapter in Sony’s Lisbeth Salander saga, though there’s no room for either Daniel Craig or Rooney Mara. Deadline goes on to confirm that Fede Alvarez will direct the Dragon Tattoo continuation first before delving into the Labyrinth universe,...

It always happens when you’re set to pack up after a long week ready for a four day weekend only to discover that 1) Star Wars Celebration is happening (of you haven’t seen the beautiful Carrie Fisher tribute video yet you simply must) and 2) A sequel to one of the most iconic movies of the 1980s has been announced.
Deadline are reporting that Tristar pictures have plans to expand on the Labyrinth universe with Fede Alvarez set to direct and Jay Basu (Monsters: Dark Continent) on screenwriting duties. The 1986 movie starred the likes of David Bowie and Jennifer Connolly and saw Sarah (Connolly) sent on a question to save her baby brother within 13 hours or forever lose him to the Goblin King (Bowie).
The movie to this day has a massive cult following and saw Director Jim Henson bring to life some of the strangest creatures you could ever imagine.

Robert Rodriguez has an intriguingly split career. On one hand, he’s notorious for his balls-to-the-wall grindhouse capers like Desperado, Sin City and Machete. On the other, he’s made bank with the Spy Kids trilogy, popular children’s films released in the early 2000s. Lately, he’s been tending towards the more bloody end of the spectrum, but perhaps he’s swinging back towards family friendly, as it’s just been announced that he’s to direct Ugly Dolls.
Ugly Dolls (or Uglydolls) are cute little stuffed toys who’ve snowballed in popularity since their introduction in 2001, with Babo, Cinko, Ice Bat and the rest making appearances in the backgrounds of Enchanted, The It Crowd and Zathura – not to mention famously being spotted fixed to Sasha Obama’s backpack on her first day of school in 2009. A 1996 movie originally went by the title of Mr Spielberg's Boat. Until lawyers got involved...
In recent years, film writer and director John Huddles has been busying himself with several projects, not least his reasonably well-received thriller After The Dark. Yet he nearly came a cropper with his debut feature, 1996’s Far Harbor.
The film, which would go on to star Jennifer Connolly, Dan Futterman and Marcia Gay Holden, originally went by a different title. A title that brought it to the attention of director Steven Spielberg’s lawyers.
Huddles named the movie Mr Spielberg’s Boat, after seeing the bearded-director's then 131-foot yacht anchored at Sag Harbor, in the New York area of the USA. The draft of the film followed the story of a bunch of young professionals who see the yacht anchored off-shore, and production duly began.
As Premiere magazine reported back in August...

For most of us, September means just one thing: back to school! Even those of us who’ve been out of school for years still sometimes think of early fall as a time of new beginnings. Your little ones might not feel the same way, though, as they head back to the classroom! If they need a little cheering up on a Saturday morning, look no further than your local Cineplex theatre. Every month there are classic family-friendly features playing on Saturday mornings at 11am. Admission is only $2.99 and a portion of the proceeds goes towards Free the Children. Why not treat the family by introducing the next generation to an old favourite, or discover a new family favourite together, on the big screen!

Jason from Mnpp here using the ocassion of another's week's "Beauty vs Beast" to give good goblin love to one of our favorite 80s kid's movies: Jim Henson's Labyrinth is turning 30 today! The film was released on June 27th 1986, and to folks my age it became pretty much an instant classic. Labyrinth tells a tale as old as time - girl babysits, girl wishes baby away to David Bowie, David Bowie's innappropriate bulge mesmerizes an eight-year-old me, so on and so forth. What's not to love? I saw Jennifer Connolly on the subway once and it took all the restraint inside of me not to yell, "Your mother is a fraggin' aardvark!" at her.
Previously It was the start of the endless summer season last week so what better way to 'celebrate" than by looking back at the romantic-comedy that dragged it out to (500) Days - in the...

“I wish the goblins would come and take you away! Right now! “
Labyrinth screens midnights this weekend (April 15th and 16th) at The Tivoli Theater as part of their ‘Reel Late at The Tivoli’ Midnight Series.
Nothing like a crummy day of babysitting your little brother to make you wish him away to the Goblin King! What’s that, you didn’t mean to? Well…time is of the essence…you have 13 hours in which to solve the labyrinth, before your baby brother becomes a goblin!
Labyrinth, the charming 1986 fantasy helmed by the late Jim Henson is lovely to see and a joy to experience. Taking its visual cues from Henson’s The Dark Crystal and its story from a mix of Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz, this is a classic story about growing up without relinquishing your childlike wonder. “I wish the goblins would come and take you away! Right now! “
Labyrinth will be screened Saturday March 5th, as part of Movies for Foodies, a regular film series put on by the chefs at Tenacious Eats. The event will take place at Marine Corps League Banquet Hall (5700 Leona St, St. Louis 63116)
Tenacious Eats ‘Movies for Foodies’ is a one-of-a-kind event where food is prepared and plated in front of you, in the form of a 5-course gourmet meal, while you watch a film on the big screen. Tenacious Eats only works with locally produced food procured by them and hard-to-find ingredients imported from places that specialize in them.
For each new film, the folks at Tenacious Eats write a new menu specific to that movie’s story. Sometimes the menu is literal and sometimes it is inspired interpretation. In all cases, each dining experience is different because each film is different.

When Entertainment Weekly first caught wind that writer Nicole Perlman had pitched plans for a continuation of Jim Henson’s beloved fantasy classic Labyrinth, fans of the 1986 original immediately assumed the worst – voicing their opinions loud and clear on Twitter and other social channels.
Revisiting a cult classic in some shape or form so often leads to an impassioned backlash, though Perlman (co-writer on Guardians of the Galaxy) recently posted a series of Tweets confirming that the nascent Labyrinth sequel is neither a remake nor a reboot and, crucially, talk was well underway long before the tragic passing of music and cultural icon David Bowie.
Labyrinth is my favorite film from childhood, so I share your concerns that any continuation of the world be handled with love and respect.

Ever wanted to have your own Vision costume that was exactly like Paul Bettany.s in Avengers: Age Of Ultron? Of course you do, because it.s cool as funk. Well, a brand spanking new video to promote the upcoming release of Age Of Ultron on DVD has shown just how much rigmarole went into the actor becoming the Vision, and it will almost certainly have you rethinking your Halloween costume. I.m going to put it out there: I love Paul Bettany. He just looks as though he.s one extremely positive and happy soul who is grateful everyday that he is a successful actor. Plus, it also probably helps that he.s married to the astonishingly talented and downright gorgeous Jennifer Connolly. However, one point in time when Paul Bettany wasn.t that pleased with the world was when he realised the complicated process that he.d have...
