Damian M.C. Jones
Growing up in Westwood New Jersey Damian quickly began to realize his passion for the big screen when his grandma Elva introduced him to a world of film. He remembers sitting in the kitchen with her mesmerized at such an effect one scene, one character, one line could have on him.
He performed in his first school play as soon as he got the opportunity and his talent was clear. Bitten by the acting bug. His commitment to each character, each production was a mirror image of the influence he found in his love for black and white film, his idols Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, Sidney Poitier, he watched and studied and was introduced to new actors as the years progressed, Forest Whittaker, Denzel Washington, they sparked such a fire in Damian, he saw the influence and change these great men and others were bringing. This change was a concept he'd seen before on UK Television, he remembers watching early comedy sketches, the likes of Benny Hill, The Carry Ons, Monty Python etc. He was in love with how British TV was, race, religion, sex was never a definition of a character or the artist who played them, this is what he wanted to achieve and bring this concept to any role he was blessed to be given.
His love for art wasn't just being able to portray a character on the silver screen it was also found in music, being able to paint a picture with words and have as much influence on his audience as through film.
Damian attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale for Music Business and Producing he then attended the New York Institute of Audio Research getting his B.A. in Music Business. He then began to work within the industry at Record Labels in NY.
Damians personal life had changed a great deal too, not only was he growing into the man he aspired to be but he was ready to share his life with someone. He met his wife while he was moving back into his acting career, she was working at Warner Bros and the two fell very much in love.
Over the next few years Damian really pushed his acting career, he appeared in Television shows such as HBO's Luck, TNT's Raising The Bar, NBC's The Cape and Harrys Law and CBS's new pilot show called NU-Marriage. Damian went on to appear in Charles Duttons The Obama Effect and his career was on the up and up.
Damian's wife had taken on the role of his manager a few years before and unfortunately the pressure of a personal and business relationship had taken its toll on their marriage, the two divorced in 2011.
Moving back to New Jersey to be closer to family and friends, Damian's music career was on the rise, he was signed to an independent label and dropped his mixtape Str8 No Chaser and later his Album Late Bloomer. Both were released under his alias P.H.I.R.E.! and were met with crazy reviews. Known for his lyricism and ability to write he began writing for other artists as well as pushing his work as a Rapper.
His global fan base continues to grow and Damian has earned the respect from his peers within the entertainment industry. Moving back to California later this year Damian is going back to school, the New York Film Academy in LA and with a few projects up his sleeve Damian will be back on our screens very soon
