In the latest round of reveals, Sadhbh Malin and Terence Rae join as Joscasta Cameron and Arch Bug, two characters who have made quite an impression on audiences over the flagship show’s run. The character is played by Maria Doyle Kennedy in the original series. Sally Messham, Alisa Davidson, Annabelle Dowler, and Harry Eaton (Phil Sharp; Callum Heinrich; Ori Jones; We Are Lumosia) Meanwhile, Hugh Ross plays Arch Bug in Outlander, and he memorably made a move to acquire the lost Jacobite gold that had been hidden under Fraser’s Ridge in Season 7 but lost his wife in the process.

Raoul Thomas Moat wasn’t the first and won’t be the last self-pitying, self-righteous, narcissistic example of violent toxic masculinity, but he was certainly one of the most destructive. ITV’s three-part The Hunt for Raoul Moat is a superbly directed (by Gareth Bryn) dramatisation of Moat’s last murderous days on earth in the summer of 2010, during which he managed to evade the police for a week and kill, maim and destroy the lives of those around him. He took his own life in a final pathetic act of nihilism, caught by the television cameras in grainy nighttime vision, his sawn-off shotgun pointed at his head. It was the ultimate insult heaped on his victims that he escaped justice. The manhunt around Northumbria as Moat escalated his threats to kill random members of the public gripped the nation. The drama is a tense and faithful re-enactment of what happened,...

The Hunt for Raoul Moat has reignited public interest in Britain’s biggest manhunt – and Paul Gascoigne’s bizarre involvement in the case.
ITV’s newest true crime drama focuses on the July 2010 hunt by Northumbria Police for Moat, a former bouncer and bodybuilder who shot three people – his ex-girlfriend, her new partner, and a police officer – two days after he was released from Durham Prison.
What followed was a week-long manhunt, involving 160 armed officers (10 per cent of those available in England and Wales at any one time). Sniper teams, helicopters and TV survival expert Ray Mears were also involved in the search. Read the full true story here.
On 9 July, Moat was tracked to a National Trust estate near Rothbury, Northumberland, with police surrounding him while he held a gun to his neck. In an attempt to make him surrender, food and water were reportedly offered to Moat, while...

National Geographic has released the trailer from the upcoming eight-part limited series ‘A Small Light’. The powerful series, produced by ABC Signature and Keshet Studios, will stream on Disney+ in the U.K. on 2 May.
Based on an inspiring true story, Miep Gies (Bel Powley) was young, carefree and opinionated — at a time when opinions got you killed ― when Otto Frank (Liev Schreiber) asked her to help hide his family from the Nazis during WWII. Without hesitation, Miep agreed. For the next two years, she and her daring and devoted husband, Jan (Joe Cole), with several other everyday heroes, watched over the Frank, van Pels and Pfeffer families hiding in the secret annexe.
Told with a modern sensibility, the series shakes the cobwebs of history and makes Miep’s story feel relevant, forcing audiences to ask themselves what they would have done in Miep’s shoes; and in modern times,...

Camera are rolling on an ITV drama that tells the true story of Britain’s biggest ever police manhunt.

The drama focuses on the innocent victims of Moat’s crimes – Christopher Brown, Samantha Stobbart and PC David Rathband; the police officers who put themselves in the firing line to apprehend Moat; and a local journalist who sought to tell Moat’s real story in a landscape of sensationalist reporting and social media provocation.
It will begin with Moat ex-partner Stobbart piecing her life back together following Moat’s imprisonment for assault. After he is released, he attempts to rekindle their relationship but when Moat realises that won’t happen, arms himself with a shotgun and confronts her and new partner Brown.

ITV's Midwinter Of The Spirit heads into its ultimate good vs evil showdown with a fast-paced barnstormer of a finale...
This review contains spoilers.
“You are not ready! Spiritually, or mentally!” yells Rev. Huw Owens (David Threlfall) midway through the final fifty-minute instalment of Midwinter Of The Spirit. If you’ve made it this far into the three-parter, you’ve already been spiritually and mentally tested with a crucifixion murder, the desecration of a local church, and lots – and lots – of character cigarette breaks. You’re ready for a finale of heel-face turns, shocks, and jittery SFX that look like nicotine withdrawal. But us viewers aren’t the yell-ees for Huw – that’s Merrily Watkins (Anna Maxwell-Martin) he’s shouting at, still swaying from her daughter (Sally Messham) having pissed off with a Satanic restaurateur (Siobhan Finneran) at the end of the previous episode, plus that pesky demonic possession thing...

This review contains spoilers.
Life – and death, it turns out – sure ain’t easy for Deliverance Minister Merrily Watkins (Anna Maxwell-Martin), what with her having just found colleague and crazy old coot Canon Dobbs (David Sterne, making an early exit) chilling at home with a slit throat. But that’s just the latest strife she’s been saddled with since taking on her new Exorcist job – there’s that crucifixion killer still at large to deal with; the dead Satanist that keeps showing up to poke at the cut she’s got festering on her hand; and trouble from her teenage daughter (Sally Messham), who’s taken to hanging out with a middle-aged woman she met in a pub toilet. Boy, Merrily, it sure must suck a witch’s deathly cold...
