Udupi (Karnataka), Nov 27 (Ians) Rishab Shetty, the director and actor of the pan-India superhit film ‘Kantara’, said on Monday that he will not reveal anything about the much-awaited prequel film.
He announced that shooting for the film will begin soon from December.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Kundapura Anegudde temple after offering a special puja in Kundapura town, Rishab added, “I always feel that work is better than words. Let my work do the talking. We have released a glimpse and a poster. They will tell you about the movie. Let the film do the talking; it is better that way.”
The film will be shot in coastal Karnataka as the plot is rooted here.
Talking about the casting, Rishab said that he had cast himself and the search is on for major roles.
When asked if he would give a chance to local artists, he added that Kannada artists would be given first priority.

Mid-March saw the team shift location to Matera, the old southern Italian town famous for its prehistoric whitewashed caves to shoot for the highly anticipated movie, written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films. Incidentally, the action prologue for the 2021 James Bond film No Time to Die was shot in Matera. Several other international movies have also been shot here. Unit sources said that Salaar production has now moved to Naples, where preparations for filming in the southern port city's central Piazza del Plebiscito plaza are underway. The local police are assisting with the set preparations, which include the use of drones and lighting for night shooting.

Mid-March saw the team shift location to Matera, the old southern Italian town famous for its prehistoric whitewashed caves to shoot for the highly anticipated movie, written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films.
Incidentally, the action prologue for the 2021 James Bond film ‘No Time to Die’ was shot in Matera. Several other international movies have also been shot here.

Bengaluru, Feb 6 (Ians) Bringing to a close speculation over a sequel to ‘Kantara’, director and lead actor Rishab Shetty has announced that a prequel is in the works. He was speaking at the celebrations of the film completing 100 days in cinemas.
“What you have seen is actually Part 2; Part 1 will come next year,” Shetty said. “The idea flashed in my mind when I was shooting for ‘Kantara’ because the history of ‘Kantara’ has more depth to it, and currently, we are in the middle of digging around for more details. As the research is still progressing, it would be very early to reveal details about the film.”

To thank the Daiva and seek the divine being’s blessings, actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty, and Vijay Kirgandur, founder of the production house Hombale Films, offered prayers at a Bhoota Kola festival somewhere in Karnataka.

The unit of director Rishab Shetty’s Kannada film ‘Kantara’ is on cloud nine after Tamil superstar Rajinikanth called up the core team to congratulate them for having made a movie which he described as ‘masterpiece’.

Actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty’s latest Kannada film ‘Kantara’ has broken the record of Yash-starrer ‘Kgf 2’ and has come out victorious by becoming the highest-rated Indian film on IMDb. The film, which released on September 30, is an action-thriller written and directed by Rishabh and produced by Vijay Kiragandur.
According to IMDb, the film has a rating of 9.5/10. ‘Kgf-2’ has been rated with 8.4 and ‘Rrr’ has 8.0.
Set and filmed in Keraadi in coastal Karnataka, the film stars Rishabh as a Kambala champion, who is at loggerheads with an upright Drfo officer, Murali (Kishore).
