Dove looked gorgeous in a red dress while Damiano wore a vest and pants instead of a full suit.

In an exclusive Dateline NBC presentation, lead detectives are set to reveal insights into the investigation surrounding former prominent South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh, who was convicted in March for the murders of his wife Maggie and son Paul. The revelations come as part of a two-hour Dateline special titled ‘The Murdaugh Murders: Inside the Investigation,’ scheduled to air this Friday at 9 p.m. Et/8 p.m. Ct.
For the first time, investigators from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Britt Dove and David Owen, will discuss their pivotal discovery of video evidence placing Alex at the murder scene when the crimes occurred. Dove, in conversation with NBC News’ Craig Melvin, expressed his disbelief after reviewing the video multiple times. Owen noted that he was acutely aware that this breakthrough had blown the case wide open, emphasizing his ability to prove that Alex had been untruthful during their interactions.

Prosecutors in the murder trial of Alex Murdaugh presented a video Wednesday of footage they say compromises the disgraced former attorney’s alibi that he wasn’t at the scene of the killings of his wife Maggie, 52, and Paul, 22, in June 2021, according to CNN.
The nearly one-minute long video was recorded on Paul’s phone at 8:44 p.m. the night of the murders, stated Lt. David Britton Dove, a supervisor in the computer crimes center at the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and a state witness, per the report.

This post contains spoilers for the first episode of Willow.
No Tolkien-esque fantasy epic is complete without a ragtag group of heroes boasting a menagerie of personalities, and the "Willow" series is no exception. A sequel set 20 years after the 1988 film of the same name, the show's leads include Warwick Davis's titular Nelwyn sorcerer (who's a bit gruffer but otherwise the same plucky hero we met in the original movie), Ruby Cruz's Princess Kit (a capable warrior but one who could stand to check her privilege), and Erin Kellyman as Kit's friend/love interest, the ever patient knight-in-training Jade. Among those joining them on their quest to save the kingdom of Tir Asleen are Tony Revolori's scholarly if inexperienced Prince Graydon and Ellie Bamber as "Dove," a wide-eyed kitchen maid who learns she's really Elora Danan, the future Empress of Tir Asleen and, in essence, the show's Chosen One.

Long after the movie Willow had largely faded out of the public’s consciousness, Warwick Davis still held out hope that he’d be able to play the title character again in some form. After more than a decade of discussions, it was finally decided that Willow would return as a streaming series on Disney+, and Davis couldn’t wait to get on board. The whole process, he told us, has been very exciting, but Davis says his favorite thing about the new series is how much reverence it has toward the 1988 film. It’s been 34 years since Warwick Davis last played the Nelwyn sorcerer Willow Ufgood, but now he’s back to lead a new generation of heroes on another world-saving adventure in the Disney+ series Willow. Davis first joined the Lucasfilm family as Wicket, the courageous young Ewok in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and his Star Wars collaborators would ultimately inspire his latest performance as an older Willow.
Specifically, Davis referenced Mark Hamill’s portrayal of Luke Skywalker in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
“The one thing I took note of in particular was Mark Hamill returning to Luke Skywalker [in Star Wars: The Last Jedi] and how he went about the approach for that,” Davis tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I thought he was really interesting, and it wasn’t the expected approach, certainly. Kasdan knew right away that Elora Danan (Ellie Bamber), the central and infantile figure of Ron Howard’s 1988 film, was the way into a legacy sequel of sorts and that a series would have to account for the future empress that was prophesied to unite the various kingdoms in the Willow-verse.

The original “Willow,” directed by Ron Howard and based on an original story by George Lucas, wasn’t a blockbuster at the box office in 1988, but did garner two Oscar nominations and a cult following. Its actors — in particular Warwick Davis’ Willow and Val Kilmer’s Madmartigan — left a lasting impression on live-action fantasy storytelling. So much so that “Willow” lore has permeated pop culture in unexpected ways, including a storyline in the acclaimed FX series “Reservation Dogs”.
This is precisely the audience that “Willow” episodic writer Jon Kasdan hopes to attract to the new “Willow” Disney+ series. However, like the characters, you’ll have to be patient and wander around the woods a bit before fully understanding the fuss.
The original film follows Willow, a young Nelwyn wizard-in-training who leaves his wife and children behind on a quest to return a lost baby to the Daikini of Tir Asleen.

In 1988, Jonathan Kasdan watched the fantasy adventure Willow for the first time at Westwood’s Regency Village Theater with his father and Star Wars screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Thirty-four years later, Kasdan — now co-writer and executive producer of the series reboot of the original film — returned to the very same theater on Tuesday for the premiere of Disney+’s Willow.
“It’s kind of like coming home,” executive producer Roopesh Parekh told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think what’s been key to the whole show, getting it off the ground but also getting to this point, is the love, passion and enthusiasm of Jon Kasdan. He’s sort of navigated this whole thing over the last four years. It’s been his dream to tell our story.”
“Without Jon, we wouldn’t have a series,” added Warwick Davis, who reprises his role as the eponymous Willow in the series.

Plot: The Nelwyn sorcerer returns, years after rescuing the infant empress Elora Danan, to lead a group of misfit heroes on a harrowing rescue mission through a world beyond imagination.
Review: Of all the sequels and continuations that I have wanted, few ranks as high on my list as Willow. As an eight-year-old, I saw Willow on the big screen based purely on being from the imagination of George Lucas. I was unprepared for the sword and sorcery and dark fantasy about to unfold on a scale I had not seen on the big screen before. Ron Howard’s epic direction, James Horner’s immortal score, and the performances of Warwick Davis, Joanne Whalley, and Val Kilmer had me absolutely blown away. Like Star Wars, for over twenty years I have been stuck with rumors of a possible sequel and only a trilogy of novels to take me back to the story of Willow,...

Returning to a beloved fictional world is one of the best feelings we can have as fantasy fans.
In the new Disney+ series Willow, we’re getting to do just that as showrunner Jon Kasdan continues the story established in George Lucas and Ron Howard’s delightful dark fantasy from 1988. Decades after Willow Ufgood saved the world from evil, this series follows the daughter of his allies Madmartigan and Sorsha as she enlists Willow to help find her kidnapped brother. Soon they’re on an escapade through the kingdom with a party of unexpected adventurers hoping to find the true empress, Elora Danan (the chubby baby from the original film).
If you want to know who’s who as you watch, we’ve got you covered as Kasdan and actress Ruby Cruz help us to walk through the new cast and their roles in Willow.

Offbeat fantasy doesn’t get much better than Ron Howard’s Willow. The 1988 film may have played out like a by-the-numbers epic about plucky heroes overcoming despotic evils, but its reputation as an all-ages adventure outweighs its triteness.
Now, with a sequel series on Disney+ (premiering today), Willow Ufgood (again played by Warwick Davis) and the denizens of this quirky universe make their long-awaited return. Luckily, judging by the first three episodes, Disney may have a new family favorite on its hands.

In an episode of ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” youngest son Adam suffers a grievous lapse in judgment. It’s Mother’s Day, but rather than spend time with his devoted, if meddling mother, he wants to see “Willow,” the potentially life-changing new George Lucas project. When the conflict comes to a head, Adam tells his mother he hates her, then sprints to the cineplex for what he’s convinced will be the next great franchise from an unparalleled cinematic genius. He emerges two hours later in the grips of despair having realized that “Willow” was barely worth watching, much less worth committing emotional matricide for.
In fairness to the 1988 film, “Willow” wasn’t an abject failure, at least not in the way we currently think of cinematic missteps. With a box office haul four times its budget and a passionate cult following, however small, “Willow” would have been for many...

My new motto when approaching Disney+ originals is, “Look, they don’t all need to be Andor.”
It isn’t that Andor, which recently wrapped its first season, was necessarily the best Disney+ original, but it was the first Disney+ original to give the impression of doing something truly dangerous — or at least truly challenging — within the confines of the please-everybody media behemoth. Most Disney+ originals had tended to fold themselves in neatly with existing properties (even WandaVision was, at its heart, an overture for a big-screen Doctor Strange adventure) or to pander aggressively to fans of beloved titles, however mediocre. But Andor showed up and used its Star Wars framework for a serious-minded exploration of the banality of evil, the corrosive effects of capitalism and the encroachment of authoritarianism. It was off-brand and daring and not the sort of thing I’d...

It's almost a breath of fresh air to watch the new Disney+ show "Willow," a sequel sharing the same name as its 1988 predecessor. Where so many of the current spate of big-budget Disney+ series are heavily tied to something greater, whether it's the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the "Star Wars" franchise, nu-"Willow" is connected only to itself. While the TV revival comes from the greater Lucasfilm enterprise, it is, of course, fully disconnected from the franchise on which George Lucas made his name, set in a galaxy far, far away. That singular connection for "Willow" is the selling point ... or rather, that should be the selling point. Yet even by the end of the first episode, "Willow" feels very much like a TV-length take on the way "The Force Awakens" revived "Star Wars" seven years ago. Everything old is new again.

One of the main characters on the great FX comedy Reservation Dogs is named Elora Danan, after the baby from the Eighties fantasy film Willow. It’s a running gag that everyone on the reservation has not only heard of the movie, but has strong opinions about it. Back in 1988, Willow — in which aspiring sorcerer Willow (Warwick Davis) and mercenary Madmartigan (Val Kilmer) have to protect Elora Danan after a prophecy declares she will bring about the end of an evil queen’s reign — was a modest box office success.

Willow has been a long time coming. The original 1988 fantasy film that the new show is based on, which starred Warwick Davis as wide-eyed Nelwyn sorcerer Willow Ufgood, never enjoyed the critical or commercial success of LucasFilm’s previous endeavour (a little saga called Star Wars). It was damned, too, by comparisons with The Princess Bride, which had come out just one year earlier. But Willow grew into a bona fide cult hit, an original fantasy epic that helped propel Val Kilmer to stardom, and retains a loyal affection among its now-adult fans, decades after its release. So when Disney announced it was pushing ahead with a long-gestating sequel, split into eight episodes on Disney Plus, it qualified, for many people, as Big News.

Self-proclaimed as a new beginning for the series, the fourth season moves towards a more consistent future as a superhero show and quasi-family drama. As per usual, a new location and set of villains threaten to uproot the titular superhero team. But the supernatural reigns supreme this time around, delivering a blend of magic and horror more devious than the last three seasons combined. Throw in a few daddy issues, and you have a well-received fourth season. However, that's not all. A fan-favorite character will make their return sooner rather than later.
The fourth season of "Titans" looks to turn the page on the long-standing series, but it is still not afraid to pull from the past. The origins of Mother Mayhem (Franka Potente) and Brother Blood (Joseph Morgan) are distinctly tied to the events of the very first season.

In Willow, Erin Kellyman feels the closest that she ever has to a character.
This fall, the English actress plays Jade in the Disney+ series reboot of Ron Howard’s 1988 fantasy adventure of the same name. It’s a role that was written specifically for her by Jonathan Kasdan, whom she worked with on 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story — a breakout role for Kellyman, who played the brutal and elusive resistance fighter Enfys Nest.
“I had no idea that he would even remember me,” says the actress, “let alone have me in mind for this character.” After reading the script for Willow (premiering Nov. 30 on Disney+), Kellyman says she immediately fell in love with Jade — a strong, silent type who’s training for knighthood and has a fierce loyalty to her loved ones and her kingdom. “I think if I’d grown...

The TV creator’s equivalent of the trolley problem: A TV show is like a runaway trolley. Broadcast is still the best way to run over (or reach) the most people, and if you stay the course, you might reach (or run over) five people, but there aren’t any TV critics or Emmy voters in that direction. But if you pull the lever, you shift tracks and go down a cable or streaming direction and you may reach (or run over) only one person, but that person is really influential and might tell everybody that you’re making great art, which is bound to be gratifying (and means you didn’t kill five people, if you’re really stuck on the original analogy). As much as you might think you want to go down both tracks at once, you can’t.
Fine.

Dove Cameron looked beautiful as the latest celebrity to rock pink.
The singer changed her gothic look, this time channeling Barbie as well, wearing an all-pink outfit.
Cameron recently attended the Valentino Pink Pp Club Night x Daphne in New York City.
She started her outfit by wearing a simple strapless top, layering a long chic blazer on top.
Her pants were straight, all the way to the floor, making her legs look even longer.
She carried around a shimmery rhinestone bag that matched the same hot pink shade as the rest of her outfit.

Dove Cameron looked amazing while wearing an all-black outfit.
The Boyfriend singer recently switched her blonde hair to a dark brown, but the change also came about in her music and style.
Now embracing this new “dark” era, Cameron attended the Peter Do Spring 2023 collection at New York Fashion Week.
She wore a skimpy black silk bra with a suit jacket on top that seemed to have an attached trail of black sheer fabric for a more dramatic look.
Her pants were cut in a very chic and loose way, adorned with a silver belt.
Cameron didn’t accessorize much, she only carried a small shoulder bag and cat eye sunglasses.

I'm going to geek out for a moment here and own the fact that Edosians have become my favorite Starfleet alien species.
Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 Episode 4 marks their third appearance in the series, with the first being the unnamed Division 14 medical specialist on Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 1 Episode 7 and the second a fleeting glimpse of photographs of Star Trek: The Animated Series's Lieutenant Arex behind the bar on Starbase 25 on Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 2 Episode 5.
See? Geeking out. Edosians are freakin' awesome.
Of course, Taas's role aboard The Dove is far more straightforward and transparent than the deliberately sinister medical specialist aboard the Division 14 ship.
It's interesting to note that The Dove crew recognizes that individuals like Klingons may choose to relax with aggressively violent activities but have difficulty understanding that the engineers are most relaxed when working.
Meanwhile, Freeman's orders for the engineers...

One of the year’s biggest breakouts in music has been Dove Cameron. While she was a known figure on the Disney Channel in the mid-to-late 2010s, Cameron’s musical breakout truly came this year, with the success of her viral hit “Boyfriend.” The song managed to peak in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number-two on the Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart, a very impressive feat for the newcomer. Cameron’s year got even better when she won the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, besting big names like Maneskin and Latto. Is she headed for the same success at the Grammys?
SEEBillboard Hot 100: Every #1 song of 2022
Dove’s biggest advantage in the Grammy race is her general musical profile. Not only is she a pop artist, which historically is a big advantage in the general field categories, but her sound is a more serious brand of pop.

As the promotional trail for the series begins, we have some exciting casting news.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Titus Welliver has joined the cast as Lex Luthor.
Showrunner Greg Walker told the outlet that this iteration of Lex "has a very sensitive, thoughtful approach to evil and power."
Naturally, this sudden arrival will have a big effect on Connor.
As viewers are well aware, Connor was created from Superman and Lex's DNA.
“He’s explored his Superman self, but he has not really explored his Lex self,” Walker told EW.
“What does that mean when you do?”
Connor has been struggling to come to grips with a life away from a lab, regularly being put in the firing line.

Househusbands. Power suits. Men fighting for reproductive rights? In her new video for “Breakfast,” Dove Cameron reimagines the world where the patriarchy doesn’t exist, and instead women hold the extreme, unfair power that men hold today.

Prime Video’s “A League of Their Own” series only just launched, but the show’s creators are already hard at work on a potential second season.
“We’re here with you taking a break from working on Season 2 of the show,” series co-creator Will Graham told TheWrap in a recent interview. “There definitely is a lot more to this story.”
The first season, out on Prime Video now, sees Carson Shaw (Abbi Jacobson), Greta Gill (D’Arcy Carden), Jo De Luca (Melanie Field) and more gather at tryouts for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, eventually settling on the story of the Rockford Peaches. Within the Illinois-based team are stories of all kinds of women, but one storyline falls outside the Aagpbl with Max Chapman (Chanté Adams), who carves her own niche in baseball later on in the show. Season 1 ends with some physical and literal twists, but the story is far from over.

Editor’s Note: This post contains spoilers for “A League of Their Own,” including the ending.
When Prime Video’s “A League of Their Own” finally said the 1992 film’s iconic “There’s no crying in baseball!” it doesn’t unfold the way you’d expect.
The line comes from Jess (Kelly McCormack), when Carson (Abbi Jacobson) buckles under the pressure of having to take over as coach for Dove (Nick Offerman). It’s one of many moments where Jacobson and co-creator Will Graham’s team of writers subvert Penny Marshall’s film and make it their own.
“Jimmy Dugan, what you love [about him] is that it’s a redemption story,” co-creator and star Jacobson told IndieWire over Zoom, citing Tom Hanks’ role in the film. “We’re in no way trying to take that character, but we’re also really subverting what the coach role from the film looks like in the show.

It’s been nearly three decades since Dot, Kit, and the Rockford Peaches hit it out of the park in Penny Marshall’s unforgettable classic A League of Their Own, which premiered in theaters in 1992. And now it’s time to play ball again with the reimagined series adaptation premiering on Prime Video.

A League of Their Own is a pretty darn perfect movie. The Penny Marshall-directed film from 1992, about the women recruited to play professional baseball while so many men were off fighting World War II, is a crackerjack sports movie, a winning ensemble comedy, and a well-hit drama about female empowerment in an era when the concept seemed utterly foreign. It’s got all-star performances by Geena Davis, Tom Hanks (it’s the role that kicked off his Hall of Fame run in the Nineties), Madonna (never better as an actor), and more.

Sexism, racism and infuriating dress codes are no match for the Rockford Peaches’ tenacity, as seen in a new trailer for Prime Video’s A League of Their Own series.

Per the official logline, the series will take “a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths toward the field, both in...
