Nyein Chan Kyaw (born 25 July 1982), nicknamed NC, is a Myanmar actor - writer. He has starred in several Myanmar films and movies made for TV, DVD released movies and also in TV Drama Series. He has also done severe screenplay writing works as well.
Career
Nyein began acting in several videos made for TV and DVD releasing, becoming widely noted for his role as Phoe Tar, a retarded boy, in 2015, title also Phoe Tar. He was then invited to try for a cinematic role in The Gemini, the very first and only one gay themed film in Myanmar, in which he played the role of a tragic closet homosexual novelist. He has since acted in four other feature films and has numerous television movies and DVD releasing movies as well. He gained popularity after he starred in the film, The Naked Ghost. Nyein won New York Movie Awards 2020, Best Actor for his role in that film. Having managed to attract the attention of fans for playing a role as Nay Thit in The Gemini, in 2019 Nyein returned to acting with A-list Star, Myint Myat in the film, Black Rose Mission. And his next project was being a main cast in Myanmar TV Drama Series, Vow to Love You Forever, directed by award winning director Aww Ratha which makes Nyein started screenplay writing.
Nyein started his writing career in 2016 by his debut film, The Gemini and from that film forwards Nyein has already several successful stories and screenplay for films. In 2020 Nyein writes a horror screenplay The Vacant, in which he was one of the main cast, a century aged ghost clinging to the colonial style manor.
Personal
Nyein was born in second capital, Mandalay city and moved to Yangon at the age of three months to live with his parents. He studied at St. Augustine for his high school ages and got admission for University of Dental Medicine which he attended just a semester till he changed to Myanmar Institute of Theology, BARS Programs where he majored in Business Studies. Soon after he graduated, he started working as a marketing executive of Timber sales for International markets and then the head of government relations department at IGE groups of companies for eight years. He entered the entertainment industry at the age of 32 as an actor.
