Maila Iacovelli

Maila Iacovelli has been working in stage photography since 2000 in both theater and cinema.
She adds long-term research projects in the social and anthropological fields to this experience, including "The Empty Tombs" which was exhibited at the XII International Photography Festival in Rome. "Revolutionary Petunias" and "Confino - Exil Units".
Since 2003 she has been registered with the National Order of Journalists as a professional photographer.
As a stage photographer she made her debut with Ascanio Celestini's film "La pecora nera", for her photos she was awarded at the 16th 2011 edition of CliCiak, the Italian motion picture still award. In 2013 she won the "Ciak - Portrait of an author" award, together with those for the best color series and the best black and white series, all three for the film "It was the son" of Daniele Ciprì. Also in 2013 with the work "It was the son" she won the PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris in the Performing Art category. In 2017 she won the " Ciak - Portrait of an author" prize, black and white section, with images of Simone Godano's film "Wife and Husband".
