Welcome to this week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Big E is the WWE World Champion? Sure, Vince McMahon has made Big E into a cackling dips–t over the past year and a pancake throwing moron by and large, but it’s a thrill to see someone with talent and a good attitude get a shot at being champion. Also, Big E is one of the few draws Vince actually has right now. Go figure. Roman doesn’t draw and hasn’t yet in his entire career. Good crowd reactions are not the same as selling tickets. Roman is the champion of this show. He was interesting as a heel for a few months, but he’s boring now. Seth Rollins is the best wrestling heel of the show, without question. Paul Heyman oughta be paired with him and...

In Bryan Forbes’ “The Raging Moon” (1971), a sudden, devastating illness leaves 24-year-old Bruce Pritchard (Malcolm McDowell) a paraplegic. A friend asks if he was stricken by polio. “I don’t know what it is,” Bruce answers. “I can’t pronounce it, but it’s not polio.” Whatever the nature of his life-altering blow, he reacts the same way that most of us would probably react, with stony, simmering self-pity and anger. McDowell is at his intense best in those scenes, calling to mind the all-time master, James Cagney, in portraying a volatile character whose temper threatens to explode through his edgy quiet any moment. Now confined to a wheelchair, Bruce becomes a charity case and moves into an assisted-living facility. There, he sullenly brushes off overtures by the staff and the other residents. “How do you think you’ll like being here?...

Welcome to this week’s Friday Night SmackDown review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Aj Styles fighting Daniel Bryan for the Intercontinental Title. I hate existentialism…stupid shit. What do you hate? Don’t say me, you jack-ass! Fine! Let’s just get to the damn review.
Match #1: Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro def. The New Day The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The New Day appeared ready to coast into WWE Backlash, but Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro had other plans with a challenge for the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Kofi Kingston & Big E had it cooking early in the match, but The King of Strong Style stopped an aerial assault from the former WWE Champion with a well-timed knee and secured the pin.
My Opinion: 2.6 out of 5 – This was a nice little taste of what can happen between these two teams. S&c winning was a pleasant surprise.

Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling was originally named Tits and Ass Wrestling. You might already know that but, for those of you who are still in the dark, Tna Wrestling was never meant to be any-thing more than a fun lark for Jeff Jarrett and Vince Russo. Based on pushing the WWE’s Attitude Era to its limit, Tna was going to be chaos for the sake of chaos, with every ridiculous idea that would have been repressed any-where else be given the spot-light. How-ever, a call from the remnants of the once great National Wrestling Alliance changed the plans at the last minute, because the Nwa wanted to offer its title belts, especially the greatest and most important wrestling title in the sport’s history, the Nwa World Heavyweight Championship, for its roster to wrestle for. At that moment, Jeff Jarrett made a deal with the Nwa that would turn Vince Russo’s wet-dream into,...
