Jasmine Gawdis
- Actress
Jasmine Gawdis is a professional public speaker who, since the age of 7, has been involved in humanitarian work on Satellite TV, broadcasting to millions of viewers internationally. She has over 800+ hours in live and television hours under her belt. She's a polyglot who speaks 7 languages. Aside from acting, she is also a professional runway model, belly/dancer, choir singer, architectural designer, private pilot and certified solo skydiver.
Combining her passion for acting and modeling, Jasmine opened and closed professional runway shows in Toronto, where she was discovered by International Acting Coach and Psychotherapist Penelope Chater. Seeing Jasmine as a future rising star, Chater took Jasmine under her wing. With this new mentor, Jasmine dove deep into character analysis, honing a core technique taught at Drama Centre London, which combines Carl Jung's Mental Factors with Rudolf Laban's Working Actions, creating a distinctive, rigorous and invaluable diagnostic tool for actors. Always desiring to take the craft of acting seriously, Jasmine threw herself into other classes, including studying with Shelley Mitchell, as well as Josh Stolberg... which all eventually led to an offer for a Broadway role by Floyd Mutrux (Dick Tracy, American Me).
Jasmine has always focused more on the work than the quest for fame. Having worked in front of the camera since the age of 7, Jasmine desired more life experience so when she hit adulthood, she studied Architectural Interior Design at one of the top universities in the world, before finally studying to be a pilot. But it seemed the limelight found Jasmine again, as she was accepted and connected to Miss Universe Canada in 2015 and 2016 and won the title for Miss Globe Canada in 2016.
Since then, Jasmine has thrown herself back into the study of acting, while also continuing to own two side businesses ("Arshmina Designs" and "Walk Like a Gawdis," where she teaches people of all ages, genders, sizes how to walk like a model, or in her words a "Walking Role-Model"). This multi-faceted, talented up-and-coming star has continued to evolve and is ready for any challenge that life throws at her.
