Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s seventh episode, musician and one-time judge of the show Orville Peck makes his “Pit Stop” debut. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Orville tells Trixie that he’s watched the show since season one and she shares that he acts like a drag queen when they spend time together in their personal life. Orville calls season 5 his favorite of all time because of how classic their “Untucked” episodes were. The two share commentary on large makeup like Dawn‘s considering former contestants like Trixie, Mimi Imfurst and Bianca Del Rio had to explain their “club kid makeup” back then, but now queens like Dawn and the Methyd family just get to exist.

Anyone who has seen "The Orville" will intuit immediately that show creator Seth MacFarlane is a huge fan of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." In addition to the archetypal characters one might find in any post-"Star Trek" sci-fi show, MacFarlane borrowed a lot of "Star Trek" stories and key notions for his series. "The Orville" takes place in a future devoted to starship-driven space exploration, and starships tend to look a lot like the U.S.S. Enterprise, with various workstations lining the walls of a bridge overseen by a pair of commanding officers. Likewise, the Orville itself belongs to the Planetary Union, an organization similar to the Federation from "Star Trek." On top of all that, the crew of the Orville is a melting pot of various alien cultures, and its workers have to overcome their differences to solve problems and engage in diplomacy.

If there’s one thing apes are afraid of besides drowning, it’s George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa. To avoid conflict at the box office during Memorial Day weekend, 20th Century Studios‘ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is moving to May 10 to avoid Furiosa’s wrath. The new date pushes Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes up by two weeks, giving the Wes Ball-directed action film time to earn more bananas at the box office before Furiosa inevitably leaves other releases in the dust.
The new date finds Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes competing with Focus Features’ Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black, Sony’s horror comedy Horrorscope, and an untitled release from Angel Pictures. It’s also worth mentioning that Mark Lindal’s The Garfield Movie, starring Chris Pratt as the voice of the Monday-hating, lasagna-eating orange Persian tabby...

After two feature films, the hedonistic talking teddy bear voiced by Seth MacFarlane is back and hitting the books for a Peacock prequel series.
Currently streaming, Ted is a seven-episode series created by MacFarlane that sees the Family Guy honcho reprising his voice role as the title anthropomorphic stuffed animal who originated in Universal’s 2012 theatrical release of the same name and returned in a 2015 movie sequel. The show is a family-focused comedy set in 1993 that features John (Max Burkholder), the younger version of the character Mark Wahlberg plays in the films, teaming up with Ted as they attempt to make it through high school. Rounding out the show’s cast as John’s kin are Scott Grimes, Alanna Ubach and Giorgia Whigham.
During a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, MacFarlane discusses what made Burkholder the right fit for John, the feedback he got from Universal and Peacock about the series,...

Tige Charity found herself unemployed from an insurance department job during the late-2000s recession. Looking to find a new sense of purpose, she began thinking about a visit she’d once made to a girls group home with her husband, actor Antonio D. Charity (The Orville), and how the home’s director had told her about the rewards of mentorship. In 2009, Tige decided to create Kids in the Spotlight (Kits), a nonprofit that helps empower foster youth through filmmaking. Kits program participants write, direct, shoot, cast and act in projects alongside mentors from the film world. “You give them the arts, create a platform for them to be seen, heard, validated and celebrated,” says Tige.
Now, Kits has grown enough to have opened its first studio. Launched with an open house in April, Kits Production Studio is a 5,300-square-foot space in Van Nuys available to entertainment companies for shoots,...

Below, we at TV Fanatic came together to pick out those frustrating characters and shine a light on them.
Did your choice make the list? Check out the list below.
Ariadna "Ari" Blanco Commerford - Elite (Netflix)
A soapy show like Elite has its fair share of scandalous drama and destructive characters.
Elite Season 6 was no exception, but rich girl Ari continued to make things worse. Her storylines have been a consistent thread of one wrong decision after another,...

With Valentine’s Day distracting viewers, and CBS’s Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldonconceding the night with repeats, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy was able to top the night in the demo despite hitting a series low.
Early data suggest it hit a total-viewer low too, though it’s a close call.
Valentine’s Day took a toll on TV usage; TV usage tumbled 4% in the adult 18-49 age bracket.
ABC’s A Million Little Things, finished first at 9 Pm, in a tie with CBS comedies, followed by How To Get Away With Murder.
Only two shows seemed impervious to Valentine’s Day’s distractions; NBC’s 8 Pm Titan Games jumped 22% compared to previous week’s original; CBS’s 10 Pm S.W.A.T. similarly gained.
But CBS’ rookie comedy Fam matched its low to date in the demo, as did...
