Started acting in local amateur dramatic societies in the mid 1980's, and enjoyed doing musicals, thrillers, pantomime and comedy roles up until 2017. However, I have always loved horror and yearned to be in films.
The wonderful world of crowdfunding now makes this dream a reality, and with social media linking fellow fans, you soon find people who are actually making their own independent movies, and are keen to get others to participate.
I started with Misty Moon on their horror short - "Ripper Tour" which starred Lynn Lowry and Dudley Sutton, and I've been hooked ever since.
Subsequent work has been a small role as part of the comedy trailers made to show the fake filmography of Megs Topplethwaite ( Lynn Lowry again) in Misty Moon's "Ready for my Close Up" - 2019, a doctor turned zombie in Jason Wright's " The House that Zombies Built" due 2023, and at least a half a dozen roles in Tony Mardon's demented horror epic - "The Witches of the Sands" - due for release in 2023.
I have also made my own Covid lock-down horror short, Devil's Idol ( 2020 ), which managed to get a Darkfest 4 screening at The Genesis Cinema in East London as part of the horror festival events. Not bad for a short film shot single-handed on an iPhone for absolutely nothing.
Looking forward to further future productions now I have dipped my toe into film acting, and I'm keen to further explore the world of indie horror with fellow fans and producers and directors. I also plan to direct more titles myself, so watch this space.
