Dame Helen Mirren said that she is “blown away” after seeing her likeness captured in a new Barbie doll, which Mattel is releasing this week ahead of International Women’s Day. The latest batch of role model toys also includes dolls for Kylie Minogue, Viola Davis and Shania Twain.
The release, also marking Barbie’s 65th anniversary, is part of the Barbie Dream Gap Project, which was launched in 2018 to challenge gender stereotypes and help “undo the biases that hold girls back from reaching their full potential,” according to Mattel. In addition to including these four famous women, this week’s new set of dolls includes creator Maira Gomez, of Brazil’s indigenous Tatuyo community; Mexican filmmaker Lila Avilés; German comic Enissa Amani; and Japanese model Nicole Fujita.

Thanks to YouTube, Nil deals, and the creator economy, it’s easier than ever before for athletes to establish secondary careers in the arena of digital content. It’s time for sports stars to take advantage of a golden opportunity — and Select Management is here to help.
Since 2010, Select has played a pivotal role in the online video industry by working with some of the community’s biggest names. The firm’s push into the sports world has been spearheaded by Amy Neben, a veteran manager who Select elevated to the role of Partner in 2019.
Earlier in her career, Neben was known for her work in fields like fashion and beauty, where she linked up with YouTube standouts like Sofie Dossi and the McKnight family. By adding top-tier athletes to her client roster, Neben is leading Select into promising territory while interrogating an industry that’s ripe for change.

Skateboarding’s second Olympic event, the park contest, wrapped up Thursday in Tokyo, with few of the favored competitors making it to the podium. In the women’s contest, two Japanese women and a half-Japanese skater riding for Great Britain took medals — none of them old enough to drink in a U.S. bar. In the men’s event, an Australian 18-year-old got gold, with a Brazlian and an American following behind, respectively.

Brat TV announced the renewal of “Attaway General” for Season 2, with filming already underway.

The first season of “Attaway General” premiered on YouTube but is now available on Hulu.
“Too often, Gen Z audiences have to choose between the talent they follow and the shows they

It’s been more than a week since Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten won “Dancing with the Stars” and he still can’t believe they won.
“I’ve had some time to process it all now and, honestly, I still can’t even believe it!!!! What is my life right now?!” Bersten wrote in his final blog of the season on “Entertainment Tonight.” “I am so thankful and grateful for this amazing opportunity. Thank you to everyone at ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ thank you to everyone who has supported Hannah and I and, most importantly, thank you to Hannah for never giving up and doing your best and just inspiring me every day!!!”
Bersten also won “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” as a mentor to Sky Brown, who was at the Season 28 finale, and Jt Church and received a trophy himself. He plans to put both trophies on display… eventually.

Bobby Bones will have to keep that Mirrorball trophy well-polished for a full year.
Dancing With the Stars, which has long aired two seasons per calendar year, is skipping a Spring 2019 cycle, TVLine has confirmed.
Though it’s not yet clear what prompted the competition series to sit out a midseason run, Dancing is coming off a controversial 27th season. After multiple well-scored frontrunners were eliminated prematurely (including R&B singer Tinashe and Fuller House actor Juan Pablo Di Pace), the Mirrorball was ultimately awarded to country radio DJ — and very dark horse — Bobby Bones, who had scored much lower than his three fellow finalists.

“You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” but you’re a darn good dancer, Ms. Greenblatt. “Avengers: Infinity War” actress Ariana Greenblatt and her fellow “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” finalists performed Christmas-themed routines for their freestyle dances during the season finale. Greenblatt portrayed Cindy Lou Who while her pro partner Artyon Celestine was the title character in their Dr. Seuss inspired number. Watch it above.
Greenblatt was hoping a former “DWTS” contestant would be her good luck charm: this version of “Mr. Grinch” was performed by violinist Lindsey Stirling featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Stirling was the runner-up in season 25 of the grownup series, behind Mirror Ball champion (and “Juniors” co-host) Jordan Fisher. Greenblatt’s resulting routine was full of strong choreographic content, storytelling and a couple of impressive lifts. And the young actress, as always, has a knack for getting into character.

Miles Brown spent virtually the entire season of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” as the highest-scoring contestant, and I thought that was a well deserved mantle for the “Black-ish” star. During the last episode of the show’s inaugural season he and his fellow finalists performed Christmas-themed freestyle routines, and Brown took a fantastic “Sleigh Ride” to a hip-hop wonderland. Watch his performance above.
Judge Val Chmerkovskiy thought the routine was especially “exceptional” for the impact it might have on viewers: “What you are doing for boys who are too afraid to pursue this, they will now have the courage to do it.” Mandy Moore added, “You have the mark of a true performer. You are dynamic. You have swag and style in the palm of your hand.” And Adam Rippon thought Brown was a “superstar.”

There was a lot on the docket for the one-hour season finale of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” There were four finalists since no one was eliminated during the Semi-Finals, and they all performed two routines on the final night of the competition: a repeat of their favorite dance of the season (this time joined by their adult mentors) and then a holiday-themed freestyle. Then the judges’ scores and studio audience votes from both the Semi-Finals and the Finals were combined to pick a winner. So was it Miles Brown, Sky Brown, Ariana Greenblatt or Mackenzie Ziegler?

Christmas came a little early to the Dancing With the Stars: Juniors ballroom on Sunday night, and one duo walked away with the best gift of all: the Mirrorball trophy. (Sorry, my bad — the Mirror Star trophy. Bobby Bones has custody of the Mirrorball proper for the foreseeable future.)
After 10 weeks of truly impressive competition, four finalists — Mackenzie Ziegler, Ariana Greenblatt, Miles Brown and Sky Brown — took the stage for two last performances on Sunday, after learning in last week’s semifinals that no one would be sent home and they would all get a chance to compete in the finale.

It has been a pretty outstanding first season for “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” which started in October as a kind of curiosity alongside its grownup counterpart. But the adult results went haywire all season, to the point where the ultimate Mirror Ball champion, Bobby Bones, couldn’t hold a candle to any of the child finalists in terms of dance quality. It turns out that the kids are alright — more than alright, in fact. I think “Juniors” outshined the original series this season.
But who deserves to win? There are four finalists going into the season finale episode on Sunday night, December 9: “Black-ish” actor Miles Brown, skateboarder Sky Brown, “Avengers” actress Ariana Greenblatt and singer-dancer Mackenzie Ziegler. Here’s how I think they should finish:

As suspected, there was no elimination on the “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” semifinal, so the final four will hit the dance floor one last time in Sunday’s finale. The pairs will perform two numbers: a reprise of their favorite dance of the season — this time featuring their respective mentors — and a holiday-themed freestyle. So again, these young’uns don’t have the pressure of performing two completely individual routines.
The episode is only one-hour long, so there’s a lot to pack in — all of the eliminated couples will be back for a group number — before we even get to the winner. The winner will be determined by judges’ scores and the studio audience vote. And honestly, whoever wins would give Bobby Bones a run for for his money.
See Did Mackenzie Ziegler deserve the first perfect score on ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’ for this paso doble?...

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” split up its final four celebs into dance duos during the Semi-Finals, and it turned out to be a battle of young versus old — or rather, young versus slightly less young. Mackenzie Ziegler (age 14) and Miles Brown (age 13) were first up, and then Sky Brown and Ariana Greenblatt (both 10) set out to prove that youth isn’t wasted on the young. How did they do? Watch their routine above and decide for yourself.
In terms of personalities, you couldn’t have asked for a more compatible fit than the lively and outgoing Brown and Greenblatt, not to mention their giddily expressive partners Jt Church and Artyon Celestine, plus their lovable goofball mentors Alan Bersten and Brandon Armstrong. They worked so well as a unit that they even gave themselves a team name and a catchphrase: “Team Small’s got it all!”

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is down to its final four. The kid celebs are paired with pint-sized pro partners, but they’re also mentored by grownup pros from the original series. And two of those remaining pros are looking for redemption after cruel early eliminations on the adult show. So can Brandon Armstrong and Gleb Savchenko do better with their young proteges?
Okay, so it’s not redemption, per se. “Juniors” is pre-taped, so their fates were already sealed before they even got started on the original “DWTS” series, which was broadcast live and concluded on November 19. But either way, success on one show must take the sting out of a disappointing result on the other.

Okay, so it’s not redemption, per se. “Juniors” is pre-taped, so their fates were already sealed before they even got started on the original “DWTS” series, which was broadcast live and concluded on November 19. But either way, success on one show must take the sting out of a disappointing result on the other.

There are just two episodes left of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” and the judges still haven’t given anyone a perfect score of 30 out of 30. And so far only three dances have gotten any 10s from the judges. You’d think they would want to be more generous to the kids, but while they’ve been overwhelmingly supportive in their comments, they’ve been more measured with their scores. Will they ever give a perfect 30? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
The first 10 of the season went to “Avengers” actress Ariana Greenblatt in week five, Juniors Choice Night. She performed a jazz dance that received 9s from Val Chmerkovskiy and Mandy Moore and a 10 from Adam Rippon.
Then in week six, Giving Thanks Night, skateboarder Sky Brown got the highest score of the season thus far for her foxtrot, which earned a 9 from Chmerkovskiy and...

The “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” semifinal will do something the mothership series has never done before: dance duos. The remaining four couples will perform individual routines before pairing up for said duos in lieu of a second individual routine. So essentially the dance duos are “Dancing”‘s trademark team dances, just with two couples. It’s probably easier on the kiddies now than if they had done it with the typical four couples per team.
As for the individual routines, the four pairs will perform a foxtrot, paso doble, cha-cha or Argentine tango. For what it’s worth, ABC made no mention of an elimination at the end of Sunday’s episode as it usually does in its weekly press releases, so do with that what you will.

This fall has been a study in contrasts when it comes to “Dancing with the Stars.” The original series aired its 27th season, and it was a roller-coaster ride with shocking eliminations along the way and an even more shocking winner at the end of the season: dance-challenged radio personality Bobby Bones. Meanwhile, the spin-off series “Juniors” premiered its inaugural season, and it’s down to the final four, all of whom are better than Bobby Bones. So should the grownups take after the kids?
Dance is subjective, so maybe you think Bones could dance circles around the child celebs. But don’t tell that to the judges. The remaining youngsters Miles Brown, Sky Brown, Ariana Greenblatt and Mackenzie Ziegler have all scored higher than Bones. True, the two shows have different judges, and you might think the “Juniors” panel might want to take it easy on the kids. But...

Things were looking up for Mandla Morris on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” The son of music legend Stevie Wonder got his two highest scores in the last two weeks of competition: Juniors Choice Night and Giving Thanks Night. Unfortunately, he couldn’t quite keep up with the rest of the field on Time Machine Night, so his time was up. Do you think he deserved to be sent home after this week’s paso doble? Watch it above.
The top five contestants performed routines celebrating different eras. Most of them performed dances inspired by the past, but Morris went back to the future for a number even he and his pro partner Brightyn Brems had trouble understanding. Their mentor Cheryl Burke conceived a scenario involving wormholes and brainwashing, but once you got past the odd sci-fi concept it turned out to be an engaging piece of paso choreography.

Ariana Greenblatt had to channel the 1940s during her quickstep on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” for Time Machine Night, but perhaps she really wanted to embody the 1960s. From her clip package it looked like she was having trouble getting into character to play a ’40s-era model, but after the dance she told host Frankie Muniz that her favorite movie is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and her favorite actress is Audrey Hepburn, whom she was inspired by during her performance. Did she live up to her inspiration? Watch her glamorous performance above.
While training with her pro partner Artyon Celestine and mentor Brandon Armstrong she played dress-up in a mock fashion show to get into character, but I doubt they had to work too hard to get her out of her shell. No matter the judges’ scores on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” it seems clear that skateboarder Sky Brown is winning the charm offensive. The young Japanese athlete has given inspirational messages to young girls and expressed her unconditional love for her parents and younger brother, and on Time Machine Night she said the scores don’t matter as long as she can keep dancing with her pro partner Jt Church and mentor Alan Bersten. But it’s not just charm — girl can dance too. Watch her Charleston above.
Brown went back in time almost 100 years to the 1920s and performed to, appropriately enough, “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” from Baz Lurhmann‘s modernization of “The Great Gatsby.” The Charleston is an especially fast-paced dance style, but Sky has handled similarly frenetic numbers when she tackled cha cha and jive in weeks past. And she didn’t miss a beat — well,...

Episode seven of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” was a night for some wibbly-wobbly dancey-wancey stuff. That’s right, it was time for time travel. On Time Machine Night, the remaining five child contestants performed routines mostly to celebrate an era before any of them were born: the 20th century — yeah, we feel old too. So who had the best time, and who just wasted their time? Follow along with our live blog below for all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
The adult version of “DWTS” ended its season on November 19 with a, shall we say, controversial ending, but going into “Juniors” on November 25 there were still five celebs in the running, all of whom actually have higher judges’ scores than the adult winner Bobby Bones did. “Black-ish” star Miles Brown was the judges’ favorite going into Time Machine Night based on his season-long scores, but still hadn’t...

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is going to turn back time and go back to the future on Sunday. For Time Machine Night, the top five couples will perform a routine inspired by a bygone era or a time period that has yet to happen. The farthest back they’re going is the ’20s, aka almost 100 years before some of these kiddies were born. They’ll also cover the ’40s and ’50s, but will then skip all the way the ’80s (so rude to the Swingin’ 60s and disco ’70s).
The couples will perform a quickstep, jazz, paso doble, jive or Charleston. (Is it just us or does “Dancing” nearly always make the futuristic dance a paso?) One couple will be eliminated at the end of the show.

Is Miles Brown losing ground on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors”? He has been the season’s most consistent performer, and after six weeks of competition he’s still the highest scoring celeb with an average of 25.5 per dance, which translates to 8.5 per judge. But he got stuck in the 9s while Ariana Greenblatt and Sky Brown leapfrogged him to earn the season’s first 10s. Then on Giving Thanks Night, even though the judges praised his foxtrot, his scores actually ticked down a bit. Can he reclaim his place at the top, or is he at risk of an early exit? Watch his routine above.
There actually wasn’t much of anything wrong with his foxtrot. The height difference between him and his statuesque pro partner Rylee Arnold was a noticeable impediment — he gave a shout-out to all the short kids in the audience — but the judges lauded him for overcoming it.

The adults are almost done on “Dancing with the Stars,” but the inaugural season of “Juniors” is still underway with six kids remaining following last week’s ouster of Disney Channel star Jason Maybaum. So who was the next to go? On Giving Thanks Night the young celebs dedicated their routines to people who inspired them. Follow along with our live blog below to find out who had reason to be grateful and who said “Thanks for nothing” to the judges and studio audience.
Last week’s Juniors Choice Night put “Avengers” actress Ariana Greenblatt at the top of the judges’ leaderboard with the season’s first 10, and “Black-ish” star Miles Brown was close behind with another set of straight 9s. Skateboarding prodigy Sky Brown trailed in the scores, but the Gold Derby users who enter their predictions every week still think she’s the one to beat for the Mirror Ball Trophy.

While “Dancing with the Stars” will reach its season finale on Monday, “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is still in the thick of its season. Sunday’s episode is just Week 6 of a nine-week season, and since it’s also Thanksgiving next Thursday, you can bet your two left feet that “Juniors” is doing a “Giving Thanks” theme. Unclear if anyone will be dressed as a turkey, but we might get one or two dances that are complete turkeys.
The top six will dedicate their routines — either a jazz, salsa, samba or foxtrot — to those people who’ve had an impact on their lives. We’re guessing Mandla Morris‘ is going to be his dad Stevie Wonder since the singer is performing “Isn’t She Lovely” during his son’s dance.
One couple will be eliminated at the end of Sunday’s show.

Things were looking up for Jason Maybaum on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” After a slow start at the beginning of the season the Disney Channel star got better and better, increasing his judges’ scores every single week until Juniors Choice Night when he picked the music and concept for his jazz routine and got his highest score of the season … and was eliminated soon thereafter. How did that happen? And do you think he deserved his ouster? Watch his last dance above and scroll down to vote in our polls at the bottom of this post.
Maybaum scored a lowly 18 out of 30 on premiere night, then 21 on Song from the Year I Was Born Night, then 22 on Disney Night and all the way up to 25 on Halloween Night. Now taking on a hip-hop-infused jazz number to the rap classic “It’s Tricky” by Run-dmc, he delivered a performance whose...

Akash Vukoti has charmed the judges on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” and he has charmed the studio audience too, as evidenced by his advancement through the competition despite lower scores. But as the competition has heated up he has needed more and more help from the studio audience votes because his judges’ scores haven’t been improving. On Juniors Choice Night he finished way down at the bottom of the leaderboard after his Charleston, but he survived again. Was he helped by the inspiring speech he gave after the judges’ comments? Watch his dance above.
Vukoti, who at age nine is the youngest contestant in the competition, doesn’t have the technique of some of his older rivals like Miles Brown or Mackenzie Ziegler, but he makes up for that with pluck, enthusiasm and charm. He’s just so gosh-darned likable. So the judges praised him for his sense of “fun,...

Competitive skateboarder Sky Brown has risen to the top of our “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” predictions in recent weeks. She has been consistently well scored by the judges, and she has a bright, charismatic personality that endears her to the audience. But on Juniors Choice Night, when the young celebs picked their own music and dance concepts, Brown fell to her lowest position on the leaderboard yet. Could she even be at risk of — gasp — elimination next week? Watch her performance above.
Brown chose to dance to “The Greatest” by Sia since it’s her “pump-up” song when skateboarding. That undoubtedly gave her a boost when performing, but she may have been at an immediate disadvantage due to her dance style: a samba, which is notorious for tripping up contestants on the dance floor. Indeed, I thought her routine got off to a slow start, but then it kicked...

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” took a week off while Disney-owned ABC celebrated Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday on November 4, but the kids were back on November 11 for their fifth week of competition. This fall “Dancing with the Stars” launched its “Juniors” spin-off to give kids a chance at the Mirror Ball Trophy, but the way both shows are shaping up this season both prizes could end up going to teenagers. In fact, the junior and senior “DWTS” champions could be separated by only three years.
As of this writing skateboarder Sky Brown is the current front-runner to win “Juniors” with leading odds of 14/5, and she’s a preteen at age 10. But she has a couple of older contestants breathing down her neck. Chief among them is 13-year-old “Black-ish” actor Miles Brown, who ranks second in our predictions with 4/1 odds. After four weeks of competition Miles has already topped the judges’ leaderboard three times, so if he maintains that momentum he may be tough to beat.

The “Dancing with the Stars” two-night Halloween event started with the “Juniors” on Sunday night. The kids’ fright fest brought out breakthrough performances from a couple of rising contestants, while another early favorite “descended” on the leaderboard and we cried boo-hoo over the elimination at the end of the night. So who do you think gave the best performances, who gave the worst performances, and did the judges and studio audience get it right with the season’s fifth elimination?
As you might have guessed above, it was Alana Thompson — aka Honey Boo Boo from the reality series “Toddlers and Tiaras” and “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” — who was eliminated when Halloween Night was over. Her scores had improved slightly since week one, and she seemed to have the support of the studio audience, so it looked like she had a ghost of a chance to advance pretty far in the competition.

Nothing says corporate synergy like Disney Night on “Dancing with the Stars.” When Sky Brown performed a routine inspired by “Moana” on “DWTS: Juniors” (which airs on Disney-owned ABC) it wasn’t the first time the recent hit film got the ballroom treatment. It wasn’t the second time either. This was actually the third “Moana” routine on the show. That in and of itself isn’t all that surprising. But what is surprising is the fact that this was the second time a contestant specifically performed a contemporary routine to the song “How Far I’ll Go.” So who did it better: Brown or Simone Biles? After week one of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” the battle for the Mirror Ball Trophy looked like a close contest between “Black-ish” actor Miles Brown and skateboarder Sky Brown, according to the combined predictions of Gold Derby users. But things have changed since week two: it’s not so close anymore. Miles now gets leading odds of 10/3, while Sky is in runner-up position with 9/2 odds. Can Sky kickflip her way back to the top?
In the series premiere episode both Browns impressed the judges, but neither of them actually topped the leaderboard. Both Miles and Sky scored 22 out of 30, which was two points behind Mandla Morris and Ariana Greenblatt‘s first-place scores. Nevertheless, Miles showed tons of charisma, and Sky had the benefit of performing last, which is often a sign of whom the producers favor because getting that last dance slot keeps you freshest in mind when the audience votes.

Week two of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” ended with a surprise: Hudson West, the Daytime Emmy nominated star of “General Hospital,” was eliminated in 10th place. That came after a superhero themed paso doble that he performed on a night when the kid celebs danced to songs released in the years they were born. And while the judges didn’t think it was the best performance of the night, they liked him better than a few of the contestants who stuck around. Do you think West got a raw deal? Watch his performance above, and vote in our poll below.
West was born in 2008 and danced to Madonna‘s hit from that year, “4 Minutes” featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Judge Val Chmerkovskiy thought West “killed it.” Mandy Moore “loved that … you were holding Kameron so strong. You embodied the character. I really enjoyed that performance.” And Adam Rippon was “so impressed.

You know how everyone makes fun of the younger “Dancing with the Stars” contestants for picking a year in, like, the last seven years — including the current year — for Most Memorable Year because they haven’t lived yet? Well, neither have the kiddies on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.”

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” made its grand debut on Sunday night, October 7. The new series is spun off from the grown-up “Dancing with the Stars,” which has been on the air since 2005 and whose 27th season is currently underway.
