The Apple TV Plus movie, Tetris (2023) has become a worldwide hit within a month of its debut, not unike the video game Tetris (1984) did when it was bundled with Nintendo's Game Boy. The movie tells Tetris' origin story and how it forever changed the gaming industry and a country at the same time. The game itself features blocks called Tetrominos, or alternately tetrads. Tetrad blocks are central to playing every known Tetris game. All tetrominoes have an area of 4 squares and come in 7 shapes, all of which can be rotated and then dropped. In certain Tetris games, the colors of them vary. The game's goal is to move tetrads to complete lines without gaps, thus making them disappear and to delay uncleared lines from reaching the top of the playing field, as long as possible to maximize the points accrued.
