Ariana DeBose won the Oscar for her role as Anita in West Side Story (2021), following the footsteps of Rita Moreno, who also won the Oscar for playing the same character in West Side Story (1961), 50 years earlier.
With this couple of wins, Anita became the first female character in history with two Oscars, and just the third overall after Vito Corleone and The Joker.
