Gary Scott Thompson is a writer, producer, and director. Among his many films and TV series: writer of "The Fast and the Furious," creator and executive producer of NBC's "Las Vegas," co-developer, writer, and executive producer of TF1 and NBC's "Taxi Brooklyn," and executive producer of NBC's reboot "Knight Rider."
Thompson grew up in Pago Pago, American Samoa, and first gained exposure to the world of entertainment as an actor, studying the craft from such notable actors as Powers Boothe at Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts. He received his BA from the University of California at Irvine, and his MFA from NYU's TISCH School of the Arts. After graduation, Thompson went to work as a playwright. His theater credits include "Small Town Syndrome," "Cowboy's Don't Cry" and "Private Hells."
Other feature credits include "2 Fast 2 Furious," "Hollow Man" with Kevin Bacon, the cult classic "Split Second," and "88 Minutes," starring Al Pacino.
Thompson resides in Los Angeles.- "High Chief" Peter Maivia, originally from Samoa, wrestled for several years in Asia and the United States. He gained his greatest fame as a fan favorite in the WWF (now WWE), taking on such heels as "Superstar" Billy Graham, Ken Patera, and Ivan Koloff. Maivia though later turned into a heel himself (at the behest of manager "Classy" Freddie Blassie) towards the end of his career. Soon after, he was diagnosed with cancer and retired from active wrestling, but was busy as a wrestling promoter in Hawaii. He died of cancer in 1982, but his legacy lives on as his grandson Dwayne Johnson, has made his name as arguably the biggest star from professional wrestling ever to successfully crossover into a sustainable Hollywood acting career.

Mike Iupati, last name pronounced "yoo-PAH-tee", grew up in Vaitogi in American Samoa, a 1.25 square mile village with 1,400 people, and learned English as a second language. When Iupati moved to the U.S. prior to high school he lived with his parents and three siblings in an aunt's garage for six months before moving into a one bedroom apartment. Mike attended Western (Anaheim, CA) High School where he was a captain and earned All-State and all-conference honors as a senior. He had his No.78 retired at Western in March of 2015.
Iupati played in 35 games (33 starts) with Idaho and became just the second non-BCS conference player to be named a finalist for the Outland Trophy since the award's inception in 1946 as a senior. He started all 13 games at LG during his senior season in 2009, earning first-team All-America honors from the Associated Press, Football Writers of America, American Football Coaches Association, Walter Camp Football Foundation and Sports Illustrated.
Originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round (17th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. Agreed to a five-year contract with the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent on 3/11/15. He and fellow first-round pick Anthony Davis started all 16 games together as rookies in 2010.
