Born in Kigali, Rwanda, from a Rwandese mother, Landrada, and a French father, Jacques, the family escaped to the neighbouring country of Burundi, the year before the civil war started (1990), preceding the Tutsi genocide in 1994.
Leaving the family business (a printing company), the family decided to move to France before the same ethnical war between Hutus and Tutsis happened in Burundi.

- Paul Kagame is the President of the Republic of Rwanda. He was born in Southern Rwanda and spent much of his early years living in refugee camps. He was one of the founding members of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) and was serving as its commander when the RPF retook Rwanda's capital Kigali in 1994, ending the Genocide Against the Tutsi. He was Vice President and Minister of Defence before becoming President of Rwanda. He was President of the African Union in 2018. Gilbert Ndahayo graduated from the prestigious Columbia University with MFA Film Directing Program (2014). During his studies in New York, he wrote narrative scripts, directed and produced three award-winning documentary features. He also produced the Ugandan segment of the feature documentary Life in a Day (2011) directed by Kevin Macdonald and executive produced by YouTube and Ridley Scott - released at Sundance 2011. Ndahayo was the producer of Flowers of Rwanda (2008) which won the 2010 Goya Award winning documentary.
Speaking to Deutsche Welle at the 2013 Berlinale Talent Campus, Gilbert Ndahayo announced the making of his trilogy The Rwandan Night (2013), The Rwandan Day and The Rwandan Silence in production.
Prior to his graduate studies, Ndahayo worked as film editor for Rwanda Cinema Center. He studied History and English at Kigali Institute of Education. He also served as country coordinator and writer for BaobabConnection - an Afro-Dutch Youth Online Magazine, his passion for storytelling drove him to cinema in 2005.
Born in a traditional village of Astrida, so named after Queen Astrid of Belgium, southern Rwanda in 1975, Gilbert Ndahayo migrated to New York City in 2008.
Ndahayo's debut narrative short Scars of My Days (2006) aired on French television TV 5 Monde and premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2007 in the presence of an audience that included former US President Bill Clinton, Hollywood celebrities namely Robert DeNiro, Whoopi Goldberg and Everybody Loves Raymond's producer Jane Rosenthal.
His documentary Behind This Convent (2008) received Verona Award for Best African Film and Signis First Commendation for Best African Documentary at Zanzibar International Film Festival in 2008 and subsequently toured European film festivals and screened at American universities. The Dutch film critic, Frank Witkam, brings out a comparison of Ndahayo's films, "Ndahayo's documentary makes me think of a few number of the best action filmmakers such as Hara Kazuo or, with the best work of Michael Moore." Ndahayo admits to having watched French New Wave movies when he was a boy.
Rwanda: Beyond the Deadly Pit (2009) documents on tape the last hour of Ndahayo's parents and 52 members of his immediate family who were massacred during the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Recipient of Paul Robeson Fund for Independent Media, the film was released in 2011 on DVD and is subject of scholarly scrutiny.
Rwanda: Beyond the Deadly Pit (2009) features in two Routledge's publications: Contemporary French and Francophone studies, Volume 14, Issue 5, 2010 under the title The Pertinence of Impertinent Storytelling in Gilbert Ndahayo's documentary Rwanda: Beyond the Deadly and AFI Film Readers Documentary Testimonies: Global Archives of suffering in the section of Mediating genocide: producing digital survivor testimony in Rwanda.
In 1994, Ndahayo was a young boy showing off his hip hop skills, football and a gold medal from the 200 meters race at the national high school Olympics. With the outbreak of the Rwandan genocide, his parents and 52 members of his immediate family were massacred.
Often, Ndahayo works with professors in African cinema and genocide programs, and facilitates study-tour to Rwanda for American and European universities including Yale University, Webster University, Drury University Steven Spielberg's USC Shoah Foundation Institute and the Spanish' Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP).- Julien Bmjizzo ( born Irankunda Julien) is a Rwandan Music video director, Filmmaker and Cinematographer. He is the founder and CEO of BproudMusic, a production company based in Belgium that specializes in the domain of audio visual productions mostly music production. Julien Bmjizzo worked on his first music project as a video director in 2015. That project was a song called Only you by The Ben ft Ben Kayiranga and this project helped him to be more exposed on a spotlight of the Rwanda music industry and other countries as a director since both those artists were among the big names in Rwanda by that time. Since then Julien Bmjizzo always had dreams of working with biggest artists worldwide such as Rihanna, Christ brown, burnaboy, wizkid, Diamond platnumz, soutisol and Mya Jazzi. He worked hard day and night to achieve this dreams in his career as he was working with also some of the well established names in his home country Rwanda such as such The Ben, Bruce melody, Marina, social Mula, Big Fizzo, Bulldog, Mico the best and many more. In 2021 Julien Bmjizzo achieved his first goal where he was given a big opportunity to shoot and direct a song called WHY by The Ben ft Diamond Platinumz who happened to be among the list of big artists Julien Bmjizzo had always dreamt to work with. Working on such a big project of The Ben who is also the top artist in Rwanda and the best among the best artists worldwide, plus Diamond who happens to be the number one artist in east Africa and among the biggest Artists in the African music and worldwide. This opportunity exposed Julien Bmjizzo on even a bigger spotlight since it went viral worldwide. In the same year of 2021, Julien Bmjizzo produced his own song where he brought eleven Rwandan biggest artists from Hip-hop and RnB together to feature in a song called Kamwe that can be found on BproudMusic.

Eloi El, also known as Eloi Muhoranimana, is a Rwandan musical artist, EDM producer and singer/songwriter. He was born on 27th April 1999 in Kigali, Rwanda. He grew up in Nyarugenge, Gitega where he was raised by his parents. Eloi derives inspiration from his family being born and raised in a family of musicians, including his father who was a member of Orchestra Irangira. His two brothers Sean Bizz and Christian Iradukunda known as "Chris Cheetah" who produced various musical tracks in Rwanda. He attended Group Scolaire Cyahafi School GSC for his primary level of Education from 2006 - 2011 and Ecole Technique De Muhazi ETM for his secondary level of Education and that was from 2012 - 2017. Eloi El started his Music Career at the age of 12 in Kigali, Rwanda as a producer and singer at age of 12. He first experimented with electronic music production in 2018. Overtime, Eloi El has developed his unique sound and has tied his main focus to electronic dance music. His first EP 'Africa to the World', released in the mid-2020 by one of the established record labels "We Are Diamond" based in Berlin Germany, has amassed over 6 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music. A year later, Eloi has managed to hit 18 million streams and plays, making him one of the fastest growing EDM brands in the region.
