Frank Burt was the stage name for Augustus Berek, who performed as a vaudevillian, was also a comedian, dancer, and self-taught musician (he played the flute, among other instruments). He first went on stage when he was 16 (as a dancer) and for many years he and his wife toured in vaudeville as "Burt and Rosedale." The act played the Palace, NY, as well as the vaudeville circuit. Their colorful careers were recounted in the book and film "Mother Wore Tights" (actually, it was an evening gown). After vaudeville, Burt worked for a time as a refrigerator salesman.- Afonso Schmidt was born on 29 June 1890 in Cubatão, São Paulo, Brazil. He was a writer, known for Caiçara (1950), Veneno (1952) and A Marcha (1972). He died on 3 April 1964 in São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil.
