Mowgli says that he didn't steal the buffaloes and they only helped him in the fight against Sher Khan. Baldev is stunned to see the dead body of the tiger who had been attacking their village. Baldev had sent the villagers to collect their buffaloes, and he was alone with Mowgli at the time of this conversation. When the villagers return, Baldev says that Mowgli is lying and that a boy cannot kill a tiger with a torch and a knife. He asks the villagers to search for other clues to figure out exactly what happened. The villagers find 2 dead Hyenas nearby who had been killed by the horns of the buffaloes. Baldev pounces on this and claims that the tiger was gored to death by the buffaloes and not killed by Mowgli. Baldev convinces the villagers that Mowgli is lying to claim Rs 100 award for killing the tiger. Baldev says that Mowgli will be punished, and the award will be distributed amongst the villagers, since their buffaloes killed the tiger. Baldev wants to burn Sher Khan's skin, but Mowgli stops him since Baldev has no right to Sher Khan's skin. Baldev pulls a gun on Mowgli intending to kill him, and Mowgli calls for help. Everyone emerges from their hiding place and Akela pins Baldev down. Baldev concedes that Mowgli has killed the tiger. Mowgli declares that he will bring the skin of Sher Khan to the village. The wolves let the villagers leave. Mowgli returns to the village with the tiger skin but finds that everyone is afraid of him. He takes the tiger skin to his own family and declares that he has killed Sher Khan. Mowgli declares to the village that he has fulfilled his promise. Baldev steps forward and alleges that Mowgli is a wolf. He only looks like a human. The other villagers who were with Baldev, support this narrative and describe how Mowgli is friends with wolves, jaguar, a bear and a python. Baldev declares Mowgli to be Shaitan. The villagers want Mowgli to leave the village. Mowgli's family argues that Mowgli is a human. In face of fierce public opinion, Mowgli decides to leave the village voluntarily. Mowgli takes Sher Khan's skin with him and returns to the jungle. Baldev wants the skin and shoots at Mowgli, but Bagheera secretly arrives and causes a stampede of the buffaloes, causing the villagers to scatter.

They all are also supporting Pehelwan, since he is the Sarpanch of the village and the villagers are hoping for a reward if they support him in punishing Radha and her family members. Bagheera, Akru and Pakdu meet Mowgli outside the village and tell him how Baldev and Lallan were scared unconscious by them. Meanwhile Baldev and Lallan have regained consciousness and are now headed back to the village. The mongoose returns from the village and report to Mowgli that Radha's family is alive, but very weak. He has located the hut in which they have been imprisoned. Mowgli decides to enter the village at night. Bagheera tells Mowgli to be cautious of humans. Pehelwan has lit the pyres at night. Mowgli enters the village with the mongoose as his guide. The villagers are busy chatting near the pyres. The mongoose is able to guide Mowgli through the dark passageways and to the hut where Radha and her family are imprisoned. There are several obstacles, and the villagers are still moving around the village, so Mowgli and the mongoose have to be extremely cautious while making progress towards their destination. The villagers are wondering where Baldev is and hope that he will return soon from the jungle. The target hut is protected by armed guards, but it is towards the back of the village, away from the pyres. At the hut, the mongoose, engages the 2 guards and starts to play with them. The guards were also bored while sitting alone and welcome the distraction and entertainment with the mongoose. Mowgli uses the distraction provided by the mongoose to climb a tree and from there jump on top of the hut. He removes the wooden bars from the attic window and enter the hut. Inside he finds Radha and her family bound at their arms and feet with ropes. Mowgli proceeds to free his family from the ropes. He tells everyone that they need to escape as soon as possible as their lives are in danger. The mongoose keeps the guards distracted, so Mowgli can go about his plan without any obstacles. Bagheera, Akru and Pakdu are waiting for Mowgli outside the village. Akru is getting restless, but Bagheera asks him to have patience as it will take time to rescue the entire family. After a while, Bagheera also gets restless and decides to intervene to help Mowgli in the village. Usha tells Mowgli that she has a brother in another town and proposes to go there for safety of her family. They have not eaten anything for 2 days. As Bagheera enter the village, the bells starts tolling at the pyres.

Bhola and his family are harassed by monkeys on their way out of jungle. The monkeys throw fruits and sticks at them. The monkeys then lift Radha straight off the ground and swing her from the trees. Radha cries out for help and her screams are heard by Mowgli. Mowgli rushes to help Radha and meets Bhola and Usha. Mowgli goes after the monkeys who drop Radha when they see Mowgli coming after them. Mowgli swoops in from the vines to grab Radha before she hits the ground. Radha is very happy to see Mowgli in front of her. Mowgli takes the family to the abandoned village, and they pitch their tent there for the night. Mowgli learns that Sanjay is dead now. He caught a disease in Rajnagar and never recovered from it. They had decided to bury Sanjay in the village, as this is where Sanjay had been born and brought up. But when they got here, they did not expect the entire village to be destroyed. Radha says that she knew that it was Mowgli and his friends who destroyed the village. Mowgli says that he destroyed the village after he learned how the villagers had tortured Radha. Radha makes Bhola realize that the land in the village is still very fertile. Radha suggests that they can far the land again. Bhola agrees that it is possible but will take a lot of effort and hard work. Usha is skeptical since they don't have any resources in the village. No equipment or animals to help them. Mowgli tells them that their buffaloes are still in the jungle and under the watchful eyes of the wolves. Mowgli is excited and starts helping Bhola and his family to build a new life in the forest. Mowgli helps erect a new hut for the family. Bhola considers Mowgli a boon who has given them a new life. He asks Mowgli if he would like to live with the family like a member. Mowgli accepts the kind invitation. Mowgli helps retrieve the buffaloes from the jungle and Bhola starts tilling the land for a new crop. One day Bhola finds 4 old villagers returning to the village. The villagers beg for forgiveness and say that they were misled by Baldev. They have lost everything in life, including their land and their mental peace. Bhola agrees to forgive them. They had returned to the village, since they had nowhere else to go. The 2 families get together to start a new life in their old village.

Several deer are killed, and the hunt is a massive success. Chameli credits the hunt to Akela and his pivotal role. But Akela is clear that he did not contribute as much, and the success of the hunt totally belonged to Chameli and her brilliant strategy. This is when a scout brings news that a pack of Hyenas have entered the wolf's territory and stolen a herd of buffaloes. The Hyenas are in a large group of more than a 100. Akela decides to lead the attack against the Hyenas and leaves before Chameli can object. The wolves come face to face with the Hyenas and a brutal fight ensues. The wolves are winning when 3 Hyenas attack Akela simultaneously and injure him badly. It is very later before Mowgli arrives and rescues Akela from the Hyena attack. Mowgli brings Akela back to Leela's cave and prepares the herb medicine that he learned from Bhola. Mowgli applies the herbs to Akela. But the situation does not improve, and Akela gets weaker day by day. It has been 2 weeks since the attack and Akela's wounds are not healing. He is not responding to the herbs either. Akela has also lost all his appetite. Bagheera tries to explain to Mowgli that Akela has lost his will to live, but Mowgli is not willing to accept this. Chameli also counsels Mowgli that death is an integral part of life. Chameli says that Akela has lived a full life and now needs rest. They should not stop him from moving on. Mowgli is furious and can only yell in frustration and his inability to change anything. That night Mowgli sees Akela wandering outside his cave and decides to follow him. Akela goes to the top of a mountain and takes shelter in a cave. Mowgli protects Akela from wild dogs, when they try to attack an old wolf. Mowgli's ferocious assault forces the wild dogs to retreat. Akela knows that Mowgli has been following him and invites him into the cave. Akela explains to Mowgli that he is now old and useless to the pack. Chameli will not exile him, so he chose to exile himself to live out his last days. Akela says that death is the ultimate truth of any life. Akela also says that Mowgli's true place is with the humans. He says that Mowgli will keep missing Radha and when it is unbearable, Mowgli will leave the jungle and live amongst the humans. Akela then takes his last breath in Mowgli's arms.

Akru gets Mowgli and brings him the wolf lair, where the entire jungle is waiting for him. Even Hathi arrives and this is the first time Hathi has attended a jungle meeting. He came for Mowgli. Chameli announces that Mowgli is leaving the jungle to live with Radha and her family in the village. The entire pack remembers how Mowgli had helped them from time to time, with herbs, by removing their thorns and so on. Chameli recounts that Mowgli is a brave warrior who defeated Jaggu, led the fight against the wild dogs, killed Sher Khan, and will remembered as a role model by the upcoming generations. Chameli announces that Mowgli lived in the jungle as a wolf, but he is a human. He is now grown up and thus should live with Radha and her family. Mowgli will be missed, but this is best for Mowgli's well-being. Akru and Pakdu say that humans are untrustworthy and hence Mowgli should not leave the jungle. It is likely that Mowgli will regret living with humans as they are dangerous. He will be happier in the jungle. Leela intervenes and says that Mowgli should live with humans. She says that Mowgli will not be happy in the jungle as he needs companionship. She says that not all humans are bad and there are good humans as well who are kind at heart. She says that Radha and her family love Mowgli equally. If the jungle truly cares for him, then they should let him go, else Mowgli will spend his life in loneliness in the jungle. Bhaloo and Kaa say that they agree with Leela. They wish all the best to Mowgli. Bagheera didn't want to say anything, but Bhaloo pushes him to the podium. Bagheera says that he has also decided to leave the forest. Mowgli understand that Bagheera is angry with him. He feels that Bagheera believes Mowgli is selfish and this is Bagheera's way of punishing him. Bagheera says that he is not angry at Mowgli and in fact he is leaving the jungle to live with Mowgli in the village. Bagheera says that he once lived with humans and understands them very well. Mowgli is happy at this suggestion. Bagheera says he loves Mowgli and cannot leave him. Mowgli says his thanks to the whole jungle. He says he will help resettle Radha's village and then will live with them. He asks for everybody's forgiveness and says that he will never forget their love. Chameli gifts Sher Khan's skin to Mowgli to remind him of his time with his friends. Mowgli starts his new life in the village and keeps meeting his friends.
