Set in a fictional future where the first satellites are already being launched from the island, the film follows the reunion of two friends when one of them, an astrophysics scientist, returns to Santa Maria to work in an astronomical observatory. When she arrives, she is confronted with the rapid changes witnessed by the island's human and non-human inhabitants. Between the geological ancestry and the immensity of the celestial space, the two friends reconcile different visions and experiences regarding the space exploration projects from Santa Maria. From the island to the universe, the project proposes a reflection about space and expansion, and the ways and practices with which territories, ideas, and bodies are observed and occupied.
