- The Feather Fairy lives in the sky and gives snow to the people. She lives with a boy called Jakob, who one day ventures into the human world and falls for a peasant girl.
- After her father's death Maruska is exposed to the whims of her evil stepmother and her stepsister Kveta, who treat her like Cinderella. Shortly before Christmas, Karel, who made his fortune in the wide world, returns to his homeland as a rich man. The village girls immediately surround him, seeing their chance to marry well. In his distress, Karel announces that he will only marry the one who surprises him with fragrant violets, juicy strawberries. and a tree with red apples--in the middle of winter. Maruska's stepmother forces her to find those rarities for Kveta, so the poor girl sets out into the snowy forest, where she meets 12 old men with supernatural powers: the months' rulers.
- A drama focusing on the age-old conflict between faith, family and love in which every is hard. The lyric unfolds in Sub-Carpathian Ukraine in the 1930s. An enclave of Jews living there rigorously adheres to their ancient customs, religious rituals and tradition. Among them lives a young woman, Hanele. For love, however, she manages to break away from the faith of her ancestors and to even break with her family. But her decision also brings about a split with the entire community which then makes her feel the horror of damnation.
