- Because of a doctor's strike, Ivan is released a day early from an alcoholic treatment program. He returns to his wife Sonja and his 16-year-old son Robi. His first afternoon at home is pleasant. The next morning, Sonja sends him to a shop to get bread and milk. On the way back Ivan runs into Armando, his high-school classmate, and through their conversation at a bar, Ivan finds out that long before Sonja became his wife, Armando spent a night with her. Ivan has his first drop of the hard stuff...Kruh in mleko is a bitter-sweet tale of loneliness, estrangement, and the glowing embers of love that once was a fire.

Gringo is happy with this turn of events but Peter is irritated by it. However, the father's sudden death before the registrar prevents Ana and Gringo from inheriting. When the dreams of material wealth vanish, what is left is the love between Ana and Peter, and the friendship that struck up between the three, so much so that at the end Gringo sacrifices himself for the couple's happiness.

- This movie is product of film-making workshop lead by Dimitar Anakiev in 2008, in Tolmin, Slovenia. The name "Tolminci" comes after the novel written in 1927 by Slovenian writer Ivan Pregelj. It describes peasant bloody uprising in Tolmin in 1713. The filmmakers were interested in uprising as a contemporary phenomena and if citizens of Tolmin are still rebellious as their ancestors.
