- Claudio, a hot-dog man in his mid-thirties, is down on his luck due to a hot-dog famine. He is just barely making ends meet, and his own wife and kid have all but lost faith in him. To add insult to injury, Claudio's obnoxious well-to-do neighbor and longtime competitor, Leopold Creticum Bottlesworth takes pleasure in teasing Claudio relentlessly about his predicament. Just as he's ready to give up on life, the down-and-out Claudio's luck suddenly changes when he stumbles upon a magical, endless supply of hot-dogs in a clearing in the forest. There's something special about these hot-dogs -- each one has a smiling face, and they giggle at Claudio. Back on his feet again, Claudio skips around town, pushing his newly replenished hot-dog cart and selling hot-dogs to the townspeople, who rejoice at the privilege of having hot-dogs in a world recently devoid of them. However, some sinister individual poisons Claudio's cart, making the whole town sick. To avoid sullying his own reputation, it's now up to Claudio to find and expose the perpetrator.
