Spectacle

DeMille wanted spectacle and authenticity in his films from this point on. Actors had to take risks when he shot daring scenes like car crashes. Although that application was lost on this film, it would work better in later films like 'Samson and Delilah'. These silent films were just a rehearsal for 'S&D'.
