Nonsense

I guess I was stupid for thinking all late silents must be good, or that a cute story with a short running time (under an hour) would be enjoyable. This movie has all of the elements that should add up to equal something good, but it doesn't. That hour feels like two, and those jokes kept being beaten until they can't be beaten anymore.

A playboy and a college professor are twins, but for some reason they don't tell anyone about that when they're mistaken for each other over and over by the college girls they both interact with. Why couldn't they just speak up and say, "Oh yeah, you must be thinking of my twin brother?" I realize this is a silent, but that doesn't make the characters mute too! Raymond McKee is completely over-the-top in the way he plays both characters, but that makes them silly, not funny. The saving grace for me was seeing all of the late 20s fashions on all of the beautiful girls, and the live musical accompaniment at Cinevent 2014, which featured lots of jazz standards like "I'm Just Wild About Harry" and "Sweet Georgia Brown."
