Sex & Nudity

  • Sam is a womanizer. He is implied to have been fooling around with a woman on his office couch. He is also implied to have had sex with a female client. She is seen to spend the night in his apartment. In the morning, she is in his bed as he is dressed and leaving.
  • There is one brief scene which shows Ruth in the bath, but there is no explicit nudity. In his kitchen, she is forced to disrobe in a search for a missing $1000 bill; nudity is implied rather than shown.

Violence & Gore

  • None of the violence is graphic or intense.
  • Archer's corpse is briefly shown.
  • Cairo threatens Sam at gunpoint. Sam then hits Cairo.
  • Ruth threatens Cairo at gunpoint.
  • Casper and his goons threaten Sam and Ruth at gunpoint.
  • A brief fight between Sam and Wilmer.

Profanity

  • There is no profanity, but there are a few very mild derogatory terms and a couple of insults.

  • Compared to most old crime films there isn't much smoking, although many characters do smoke including Sam, Ruth, Cairo, Casper and Tom.
  • Casper and Sam share a drink.
