A short documentary sequence on undersea life, filmed in two-strip Technicolor, running approximately 4 minutes, originally filmed to be used in The Uninvited Guest (1924), and shown at the shipboard party at the beginning of the third reel, is now missing and apparently lost.
The entire prologue is performed in German. Even for a programmer like this, audiences back then were presumed to be intelligent enough to follow the action without "explanation." Interestingly, the closed-captioning on the version shown on some television prints translates the dialogue.
Some posters for the movie state that the underwater scenes were filmed in Technicolor, while other posters state they were filmed in Multicolor.
