A scene set at the St. Petersburg train depot was delayed for several hours on April 22, 1933, due to an A.L.C. train derailing that morning.
This was the third and last movie to be filmed at Sun Haven Studios. Just before the movie was to be released, federal agents came and closed the studio for failure to pay taxes. Along with items seized from the studio, the masters of the three films shot there were confiscated.
Scenes set at a New York hotel were shot at the Vinoy Park Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida, with fifty local extras.
