This was the first Warner Bros. cartoon to begin and end with concentric circles behind the logos and titles. However, the now famous "zooming shield" was not present in this film. It was introduced in a later cartoon (unknown due to Blue Ribbon reissues), and it was initially used without the zooming sound effect.
Because of the release of the dubbed version on LaserDisc, The original "That's all Folks!" ending rings are now lost forever and replaces the original with the 1937-1938 Orange and dark rings. It does not survive through CN Latin America.
The vehicle happened upon by the little bear is based on a traveling wagon, traditionally used by the Romany people for transportation and shelter.
The giant sandwich seen is likely based on the Dagwood special that appeared first in the Blondie comic strip (1930) and later films based on it. Dagwood Bumstead was often shown constructing (and eating) such a delicacy.
The little bear gets inebriated on hard cider, which can be sweet or dry. It's a popular drink in Europe and is generally made from apples, or pears.
