Not only was this the 169th and final Hal Roach-produced, "Our Gang" short, it was the very last short produced by Hal Roach Studios, which concentrated on full-length features after this.
Cast member Eugene 'Porky' Lee later admitted to being frightened (in reality) as this short was being filmed.
The third of five "Little Rascals"--aka "Our Gang"--shorts without George 'Spanky' McFarland. The others were Feed 'em and Weep (1938), The Awful Tooth (1938), The Little Ranger (1938) and Party Fever (1938).
The last "Our Gang" short to feature "Good Old Days" by Leroy Shield as its opening theme. The subsequent M-G-M shorts used a public domain mash-up of "London Bridge" and "The Farmer in the Dell".
There were 221 "Our Gang"--aka "The Little Rascals"--shorts produced altogether. The first 169 were produced by Hal Roach and shot at Hal Roach Studios. The final 52 were produced by and shot at MGM.
