Walla Walla Washington was a popular name gag in many cartoons of the era. So were towns like Cucamonga, Albuquerque, and others that sounded unusual to the eastern transplanted animators.
This was Prototype-Elmer Fudd's last appearance; he was converted into the Finalized Elmer Fudd, a name that had been written on his satchel in an earlier short. This is also the last time Elmer was voiced by Danny Webb.
A spoof on the newsreel series "Believe it or Not!"
A fanciful rendition of life in outer space, right out of "Buck Rogers," which was spoofed here. The series would again be sent up in the "Duck Dodgers" cartoons.
Radio programs were a firm of popular home entertainment at the time. There are several catchphrases from shows used here which audiences would have recognized, such as I'm a bad boy! (Red Skelton's Mean Widdle Kid) and don't you believe it! (the actual name of a popular radio broadcast).
