Director Ricardo Cortez humiliated the young Glenn Ford in front of the whole crew, saying that he was a lousy actor, and that was a shame to have hired him. Glenn Ford never forgot the outrage for the rest of his life. Decades later he nearly hit Cortez in the face, Cortez whom he met in a Los Angeles restaurant.
