The gang and scouts recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The phrase "under God" is not included, because that was not added until 1954.
Our Gang debut for Mickey Gubitosi (aka Robert Blake). He took over the role of the "toddler" of the group, which had up to that point been played by Gary Jasgur. For this short, the dialogue was written for Jasgar's character role. (For the first time in Jasgar's two-year tenure with 'Our Gang'), and when he couldn't get the lines out, Blake (an extra on the set) piped up and said "I can say that."
The 180th of 220 "Our Gang" shorts released from 1922 to 1944.
The extras in this short came from the Los Angeles Boy Scout Troop No. 59, which was sponsored by Clark Gable.
