Good movie for soaring!
Segelflygaren29 March 2002
Örnungar is a film from 1944 with famous swedish jazz singer Alice Babs in the headroll of Marianne. She get's mad at her father for marrying a friend of the family so soon after her mother's dead. Her father think's she should learn about responsibility and friendship and let's her go to a beginners-class in soaring. Soaring in sweden 1944 was just at the beginning of the sport's life, and was considered as a brave, healthy and exciting sport of it's times. Still, today it is. Anyhow, Marianne starts the course to be a gliderpilot, on famous Ålleberg in the south-west part of Sweden, somewhat of the headquarters for all soaring in Sweden. The movie has excellent pictures of aircraft and is the most famous soaring film in Sweden.

Other nice soaring-movies: The Thomas Crown affair (the original) - flies an SG 2-32 The Thomas Crown affair (with Pierce Brosnan) - flies a Duo Discus.
