A cartoon parody of Ed Gardner's "Duffy's Tavern" radio program, which was also used as the title and basis of a Paramount feature in 1945, in which "Tuffy's Tavern" replaced "Duffy's Tavern"; Artie replaced Archie the manager' and Fillegan the waiter replaced Finnegan the customer. And they tossed in an Edward G. Robinson caricature named "Edward G. Robincan." So, into Brooklyn's "Tuffy'Tavern" tough-guy "Robincan" stalks in and orders some "mouse-knuckles" and while Filligan goes to the kitchen in a search for a non-menu item, Robincan beats up Artie the Manager, because Tuffy the owner never sets foot in the place. Filligan encounters Sniffles the Mouse, who looks like a mouse version of Little Lord Fauntleroy, but Sniffles has no desire to contribute his knuckles for a meal, and he plays many tricks on the slow-witted Irishman, and Filligan ends up taking a bone belonging to the resident bulldog to Robincan. The bulldog takes umbrage at losing his bone, and a free-for-all ensues. The title itself is a pun based on two other film titles, none of which were made by M-G-M.
