Tense, tension-fraught film
artzau14 May 2002
Who remembers hardly anyone in this film? Well, in 1948, these guys were still top of the heap. Tom Conway, film cad George Saunder's brother, was cast in a series of Falcon films and Hurd Hatfield is likely best remembered for his lead in the film version of Oscar Wilde's Portrait of Dorian Grey. But, this film is dark, dark and full of tension. I remember it after having seen it as an 11 year old kid in '48. It keeps you right on edge up to the ending. I've never seen it on the late show, but if it shows up, check it out. It will leave you on edge from the beginning to the final scenes.
