During the scene where Belinda raises the shotgun and fires at Locky McCormick, she is first holding the weapon as a left-handed person would when firing, with the gun on her left shoulder and her right hand steadying the barrel. As the shot is fired, there was a noticeable edit, and for a couple of seconds Belinda is shown holding the gun as a right-handed person would, with her left hand steadying the barrel. There is another quick edit and Belinda is shown holding the gun again as a left-handed person would, with her right hand steadying the barrel.
When Belinda fires one barrel of what looks like a 12 gauge, double-barreled, shotgun at Locky McCormick, there is no recoil of any kind, not even a slight twitch. That seems very unlikely given the size of the gun.
Right after Mr. MacDonald calls Belinda down from the tree, he tells her to do her chores. A car can be seen driving by in the background.
After Locky McCormick fights with Mr. McDonald, causing the latter to fall over the cliff and die, there is no follow-up reference to McDonald's cause of death. This seems odd given that McDonald sustained serious multiple injuries from a fight, that should have been identified as such and been distinguishable from any sustained in the fall, itself. The existence of a possible assailant was never mentioned or investigated..
The adoption papers from the council misspell the possessive "its" as "it's."
